Question for Florida/SEC backers

If UF easily takes care of OU as most expect, then Tebow comes back and wins another Heisman in 09, and then Florida reaches the championship game again next year, will you all still pull for them in the championship game?

This would give Florida 3 in 4 and would establish their dominance in CFB, let alone the SEC.

My main question is at what point do you stop worrying about SEC pride and start worrying about 1 team dominating to a point that is detrimental to your own favorite team? Is this even possible?

But honestly, just imagine what their fans would be like at this point, I promise a lot of you would want to see them lose just to shut them up.

I don't pull for the SEC teams that actively recruit against LSU unless its an NC game. But in your scenario I probably wouldn't pull for Florida in 2009.

I'm not big on just rooting against conference teams success bc we sucked it up.. My team should take care of business.. if not then I wish the next best all the luck.

If we can't get it done I would rather see Florida win the title game every year over other teams such as OU, USC, or OSU.. If Florida is playing maybe some cinderella team I might go with the underdog..

My high school team lost the south state championship to another school and as much as I HATE that school bc they are a huge rivalry I was still pulling for them in the state championship.

I don't ever pull for Florida in anything. Same for AU, South Carolina, and UT. UGA competes for too much for recruits and in games against those schools. F UF, Boomer Sooner.

Florida fans are pretty bad, anyway. They don't think the SEC existed prior to 1990 when Shiny Pants got there.

I don't really care what happens this year.

I think Bama fans admire Oklahoma's program and fans, but since we lost to UF, it wouldn't hurt us to see them win it all..

ETA: As far as next year is concerned, it's tough to say. It would depend on who they're playing. If it were a team from a joke conference like the Big 10 or Pac 10, I would pull for UF.

Because you compete in recruiting against them? UGA hasn't exatly struggled in that department in recent memory unless I am mistaken. When was the last time yall had a recruiting class ranked outside the top ten? I don't think a lack of talent has been or will be a problem for Georgia anytime soon.

And in every sport.

The difference in Top 10 annually (UGA lately) and #1 is very slight..maybe 1 or 2 special players.

Don't know, but LSU and UF have been the two teams who have gotten more talent (and thus been more successful) than UGA lately. Again, we're talking about trying to climb that very last hurdle.

Then you should look at our starting OL in 2006 and 2008. Maybe they are "talented", but clearly our recruiting in that area wasn't up to snuff or we wouldn't have to start so many Freshman.

i will root for any SEC team except for UGA...my hate runs deep for them...most of the "younger/newer" fans are all about SEC Pride...and i am also..but the dawgs need to know that they belong on the bottom

I've heard from the Ohio State fan base that Florida's fans are downright awful. But I guess I haven't experienced it. We play hard fought games every year and I think LSU and Florida have a deep mutual respect for each other, including the fan bases. It's the Bama fans who are the most annoying to us. But I've heard from most fans out of the SEC that Florida's fans are the worst.

That would be hard to believe.
Are they comparing Meyer to Spurrier 13 ways;
and do they talk of deceased former coaches for
30 years; and brag about NC title 30 yrs.ago?

I would probably still pull for Florida in that situation because it would be Tebow's last year.
They would still recruit well without a NC.
