Question about Bama’s stadium renovations

Are they going to split the upper deck to put up a video board during this renovation? Or are the not doing that anymore? I know there was a lot of black lash.
I tried to put a picture in but I doubt it works.

They are not doing that anymore. Making the four corner video boards larger. Something about needing to increase REC buy-in to ensure iron bowl victory and spot in the playoff. I didn’t read the invoice that closely tbh.

I believe they are reducing capacity. People don’t go to the games anymore.

I haven’t seen the current plan, but the original concept was to add more luxury seating at the expense of losing some regular seats. I assume that’s still in play.

More accurate to say attendance is declining in most places. It does make the stadium expansion craze from 5-10 years ago look silly.

Huge scoreboard no longer in the works. Major changes are:
- swapping the sides of the pressbox
- adding in luxury boxes on the West side where the pressbox was
- increasing size of the four corner scoreboards.
- reworking the locker room walkways to the stadium
- new concession improvements
- new stairway access to the new seating areas

Tickets are still sold but butts in the seats on game day is much lower and Since they use paid attendance the numbers still look good.
