This thread is dumb, but:
quote:

How many pts did LSU score after missed FGs?
Saban knows his defense can stop LSU, even with good field position. No reason not to take a shot at the three pts.
Is pretty dumb too.

This was a game of field position. Punt when you should, pin us deep, make us punt from deep in our own territory, get great field position, have a better chance at scoring.

It should make sense to you, it's how we beat you afterall.

LSU will be slightly more agressive on both offense and defense as they normally are when not playing on the road, but they do not open up the offense much unless the other team proves it can consistently move the ball and score.

Alabama didn't come close to proving that on 11/5, if they do this time then LSU will take more shots.

We get as many yards from passing as we do rushing.

I really don't consider a nearly lateral pass to TR in the flats as "passing yards", although I know they technically show up as that.

Why is that? What makes you so confident Bama will win in New Orleans when they couldn't get it done with home field advantage on their side?

I still find it very amusing when Pollack said on GameDay (Nov 5, 2011) that LSU and Bama's special teams were a wash!!!

only hit 2 I think from 45 + at that point.
I don't think it was fear, but him knowing nobody was likely getting in the endzone
Just a matter of how someone views him opting to not pin LSU inside the 5 or 10 by punting is all

Saban's was scared to death on the 5th, he was playing tight, knowing his team was in the process of shitting the bed at home.

On the 9th his a-hole will be so tight you couldn't get a ten penny nail up it with a sledgehammer, AJ will choke in the dome and JJ will thrive.

35-10 LSU

By the fourth qtr. your D was tiring and our running game began to click. See ot where our running game was beating you to the outside every play. We have been doing it all year and will wear you out in the second half. Besides having a JJ with more reps and hilliard, who didn't play in the first game. Lsu by 10.

I am thinking more like 17, McCarron won't be able to hear himself think in the Dome

Yeah, sure Les has his players in better shape that ours. Look, the JJ option play was working the whole game not just the 4th qtr. It was a coaching mistakes made by Saban not to have us ready for it. JJ's only been running it for 3yrs. But don't worry. It's not going to work in the 1st or the 4th qtr in NO.

What do you base this "beat that arse handily" prediction on?

1) The emergence of Kenny Hilliard as a tailback
2) Tyrann Mathieu's emergence as a punt returner
3) Best punter in America
4) Best bowl coach in America
5) Better depth
6) What will amount to home-field advantage

Depth also will win for LSU. I expect Saban to come out fast like UGA did. Should be a good one. Unfortunately for the gumps, LSU knows they can win because they already did at BDS. Extremely confident going into the Dome.

I understand this to a point but if you gain 30 yards in field position by punting, you put yourself 30 yards closer to the endzone next time you're on offense.

Shush with this foolish "logic". That would mean Saban made a mistake, and we all know that's impossible.

Yeah we don't have any depth. We were #1 on rivals recruiting 3 out of the last 4yrs. But LSU has better depth. Dream on dude.

LSU depth is a total illusion. We're at least as deep as you are. You don't win rivals #1 3 of 4 years without serious depth.
Home field advantage is minimal at best. We're not Oklahoma.
I'll concede your other points although I doubt TM gets a chance to return any punts. Punting 38yrds straight up is a fair catch every time.

How about your trend at QB? JJ's 30yrds passing in the SECCG?

Was the ultra conservative play calling we saw from Bama on Nov 5th

How did you get the impression the play calling was "ultra-conservative?"

They ran a ton of one back and empty (with Trent split wide) sets in the first half. I'd hardly call that conservative.

So, just because your class was ranked highly by rivals, your talent is set in stone? Bama had 8 players on the preseason All SEC team. LSU had ONE. After the season, both teams have 5 or 6. Maybe rivals got it wrong. Maybe LSU's players overachieved. Maybe LSU is winning with lesser talent and superior coaching. All I know is our team outplayed yours when it counted. Your team was worn out at the end.
