Also he didn't need to throw the ball in order for them to win outside of whatever happened against NIU. That said, I do think the obvious play is that if you're Georgia you sell out against the run and make him beat you passing the ball.
That’s about it.
He also didn’t have his two best weapons until about the second week of October, either. Faison was out completely until October, and Evans was on limited snaps with almost no targets until after the first bye. He also sat a lot of 4th quarters this year.
Leonard himself missed spring ball (he was a transfer as you may recall), and it took him until about mid- to late-October to start looking comfortable in the offense. He’s improved a lot since September. He’s become a good, efficient passer and is a good college QB at this point, though he is obviously not a first rounder. He is very good in the intermediate game and weak-ish on the deep ball - not an arm strength issue but more of an accuracy and receivers who can’t get separation issue (outside of Faison who plays a lot more slot). He’s good enough to keep UGA honest and I think Denbrock will put him in position to make a lot of plays, but I doubt they’ll be playing a lot of cover 2 zone.
Bigger issue for us against UGA is on the DL. They are a MASH unit at this point. It’s ridiculous and a bit freakish how many of our top dudes we’ve lost there. LB corps is pretty stout and the secondary is great, but we are down 4 DL either starters or main rotation and a couple others are pretty banged up. Would almost rather face Beck and his volatility because you know they’d be slinging the ball around some against a really good man coverage secondary. No idea how Golden is going to handle this Stockton thing.

Rylie Mills is the big one but also Jordan Botelho, Boubacar Traore, and Kyngstonn Viliamu-Asa.
Howard Cross who was second team All-American last year and is probably our best DL at any position missed all of November but played last week but clearly on a snap count (think he was in the 20 - 25 range).

ND better average more than 2.8 ypc if they want to beat UGA.
Take out the 98 yard TD run and that’s all they mustered against IU. 95 yards on 34 carries.

Why take out the 98 yard run? That was 7 points and changed the game. Supposedly #4 had the flu and was coming back a knee injury and he still averaged 13.5 yards pc and had over 100 yards. That guy runs fast and hard as frick. He’s supposed to be healthy for the game. If he is He’ll be the best offensive player on the field for either team. Hopefully Georgia will have an answer

The #1 defense in the country is going to give up 48 points? Lmao... that would be more than Oklahoma scored all year though, which would be interesting.
