Stinger, The reason I started this and posted the rules was in the naive hope that people would read and accept that things are different and clear. I guess it's human nature to try to muddy the water unnecessarily. Sigh. The selection format is clear. Going to be a lot of back and forth "what if'ing" next month.

A lot of people simple just don't read the criteria. I see a lot of people assuming incorrectly that the Top 12 get in. That is not the case.

It is mathematically possible that up to 5 teams outside the top 12 could get in, but that will most likely never happen in reality.

I bet they would bend the rules if the domers are undefeated at the end of the season, ranked #1 while the #2 team either has one or two losses.

No. The rules clearly state that Notre Dame cannot receive a bye regardless of their ranking.

If they were ranked #1, then they would be the highest seeded team in round 1. They would get a home game.

Notre Dame actually requested this rule. They want the extra revenue from the extra home game.

Bumping this because I added the 12 potential CFP teams based on current rankings and pure speculation. It'll become more accurate week to week.
Go to top of thread.

5 highest rated Conf. Champs

Shouldn’t this be based on who is actually on top of the standings for each conference?

Poll rankings are subjective and have no basis in actual conference standings

Damn it Sarge! What did I type just above?

There are a lot of variables! It'll settle in as time progresses. If you want to go into every conference and repost that version, Have at it!
Gee Mo Netty.

BTW Old Sarge, I know you're an old arse aggy. You been on Texags for decades. I specifically asked for aggy to STFU for a couple of weeks.

I was just busting your balls for assuming Texas was leading the conference right now

This is a great thread and I appreciate it.

Change the title to “projecting the 12 team playoff positions” or something similar and I’ll request a sticky for it

If you don’t have to put title update on it

I requested a sticky to the top, If you click the three dots at the bottom, click report post then you get a drop-down menu and one of the options is to request a sticky to the top

Usually takes two or more people to request one to get chickens attention, but I think this thread, if you update it weekly will get The nod and get Pinned to the top

Bumping this as I've updated for yesterdays AP Poll.
Same teams in as last week, except Ole Miss dropped, LSU in. Of course order and seeding will change. Next week Bama or Tenn might get bumped out. Norte Dame is next spot to move up Bama or Tenn drop below 11.
