You have to have access to the blog he put it in, I think.

I agree with everything in this thread. I just dont know if Arkansas is willing to try to pump huge bucks into basketball with the success of football over the past couple of years.
I think our athletic director and Arkansas fans see it more as an investment. When we start filling our arena again on a consistent basis, it will be well worth it. We're not as basketball crazy as Kentucky fans but we do love our basketball. It's been that way since the early 70's.

Depends on your definition of "big bucks", the losses of revenue from this year alone added to Pel's salary would pay "big bucks". Add in the losses from the past two years and you have less of a drain on Football and Basketball from the title IV sports.
For a smaller school, like Arkansas, success in both Football and Basketball is needed, especially when you take into account that we didn't build a 20k seat arena just because we could. Baseball is doing about as well as one could hope by not being a drain on the revenue as the other sports, actually being close to breaking even which is good.
Arkansas' maximizing potential revenue from Football and Basketball allows donor contributions to be used in areas that would be more beneficial to the the entire athletic department than being used to pay for a coaches salary...

Because I don't know...
Will this have any impact on the signing class?

Ross is coming.
The rest are waiting to see who the new hire is, rumors abound.
I see most staying, I would be surprised if any left for elsewhere. JMO.

Have to admit this all seems chicken/egg to me. We've waited for talent that any coach could coach and now we're risking them on any ol' coach...
Hope this works.

Some have tried to dictate conditions around this situation, allegedly.
We seen this with Pel's last highly ranked class, it will be interesting to see how the talent to attitude ratio works out with this one...
It will also be interesting to see who, if anyone, gets caught trying to recruit these kids before they are indeed released from their LOIs...

Can I have my people call your people about the open coaching position at PigU/UPig (which is more acceptable?)?

How about you have your people contact a bus load of garden equipment with their faces.

We are just creative in how we mash faces.
Let your people know they have a lunch date with my people
Back on topic I am excited about Razorback basketball for the first time in years.

Lol, I can imagine.
Back on topic as much as I wanted Pel gone, I was such a girl when I read a tribute to him.

I'm going to Jump Ball to start a thread asking if anyone has heard anything about Mike Anderson.
I'll be back and tell you what I hear.
