Apparently Otis Kirk and Luke Mathesson have been spreading the pro-buzz agenda (rivals) which makes sense how all this "inside information" on him is being spread throughout the internets.
If I miss spelled Luke's last name, I do not care...
Oh, and Otis is an expert on all things basketball, he owns a Lakers jersey or two...
I seriously doubt Buzz was Long's first, second, third, forth, or fifth choice. I doubt he will be the next head coach...

good because i'm not sold on buzz one bit. The man is an ok coach but he sure as hell isn't the hiring splash that we wanted.

Biddy was just on DTS sunshine pumping Buzz, it was disgusting. I truly believe he would stick his tongue down Buzz's throat.

One simple question i have for any buzz supporter...what has he done that is so impressive we would want him as a head coach.

Not a buzz supporter, but he has made three straight NCAA tourney's. Made it to the 2nd round two years ago, was ousted in the 1st round last year, and is currently in the sweet 16 as an 11 seed. He has averaged 23 wins the past three seasons at Marquette.
If he can do that at Marquette in the Big East, I'm thinking he could do comparable or even better at Arkansas in the SEC.
With that said, MA and Howland are clearly better choices, and I'm sure there's others like Marshall (who I know nothing about, but keep hearing his name brought up) who would be as good or better "second tier" candidates.

So his deepest run so far is to the sweet 16? not that impressed considering marquette was built up to a very solid program by the previous coach.

The SEC is down and he probably would succeed in the SEC but i don't measure a seasons success by how well you do in conference....It should be measured by success in the tourney, I would take a season with a horrible conference record but an elite eight or final four anyday of the week.

I agree with this.

Man, I remember this hot name from Marquette, dude made it to the final four and everything. He averaged 23 wins his last 3 seasons there while in the Big East.

If you think Gregg is a 2nd tier candidate, Buzz is floating somewhere between the 3rd and 4th tier...

can we please get updated info in the first post so we don't have to sift through 150 pages to try and figure out whats going on in hogland?

Not a Buzz backer by any stretch but the guy's made it to the sweet 16 exactly as many times as Crean did.

that just shows you what a team can do when they know they're going to have a young energetic coach with tons of upside and youtube videos 5 seasons into the future

Black people, and I'm just telling it like it is, generally speaking, don't like water. We are the Flagship. Why was Nolan so unhappy? Why was Heath so timid? I bet they can swim but it's more like an emergency thing.
I hate to interject race here, but maybe we aren't meant to have a black coach?
