I predict sadness for dog fans.

Their grind will be more like a whimper in 2018.

Eh, I call it 8-4 for the purpose of this thread. Y'all had a good run. Fitzgerald is a good QB. Dan Mullen is a good coach. You have one but not the other. We'll see.

1. Experience at OL is big in the SEC, and our OL was top 5 in the SEC last year; Return 4 of 5 starters and replace Rankin with Eiland who started 4 games last year and played in all 13 last year. Our OL was good last year and will be good this year.

2. He was a "sub-par passer" because we had little talent at WR. Mixon was good last year and he returns, Dear is explosive in the slot when healthy. Guidry and Whop are both going to be big impact guys.

3. Williams is a returning 1,000 yard rusher.

4. See #2.

5. Yes, our defense will be very good. Already covered that.

Excuses. Cam Newton had Darvin Adams and Terrell Zachery as his main targets and he had the #1 single season passer rating in SEC history (top 10 in CFB history)

Once again, don't count your chickens before they hatch. WR probably has the highest bust rate of any position.

Might want to wait to see if he makes it to a classroom this fall.

Bowl, I see you’re still the same dumb redneck you’ve always been. This board is so overloaded with shite posters that it’s hard to read without cringing.

So if he has to be as good as Cam Newton now?

I think they beat Florida and Arkansas at home. I'm about 50/50 on K-State right now.

You’re really trying to compare Cam to Fitz to make a point?

1) Stephen F. Austin - W
2) @Kansas State - W
3) ULL - W
4) @Kentucky - W
5) Florida - W ( It's in Starkville and the Dawgs are going to be ready to play against their old coach)
6) Auburn - L
7) @LSU - W ( This is same State that beat LSU last year. LSU is young and inexperienced at every skilled position on offense)
8) A&M - W
9) La Tech - W
10) @Alabama - L
11) Arkansas - W
12) Ole Miss - W

10-2 = New Year's Six bowl

No, the point is the that a good QB will make his WRs look good. Bad WRs aren't to blame for all 20 of Fitz incompletions against AU last year. You can choose to laugh and ignore it now, but come that first kickoff reality will still be right there waiting for you.

On paper, this MSU team is better than the 2014 team at every position, except QB. On paper. Games aren't played on paper. Plus we have a new coaching staff.

So anyone talking in definitives right now is a moron.

I can see how someone can arrive at 6-6 or 7-5. But that accounts for only all the negatives coming to fruition.

I can see how someone can arrive at 10-2 or 11-1, but that accounts for only all the positives coming true.

The truth is likely in the middle at 8-4 or 9-3. But the fan in me obviously hopes it all comes together so we realize the high end.

Based on talent alone though, the realist in me also realizes that the middle or high end are both FAR more likely than the low end. And the fact that it's pretty much solely haters and dumbasses predicting (hoping for) the low end only serves to bolster that position.

Cam wasn’t just good. He was great. Fitz is a great runner, but I’m not one of those State fans that blames it solely on the WRs. Though they certainly contributed their fair share. And I look forward to that reality.

Oh you mean a frequent poster on here posting in a thread giving an outside opinion? You guys are nuts with shite like this.

I give TonyMontana props for his post. Pretty solid and well explained.

I think in the 7-5/8-4 range for State. Which would be great. I could also see a 6-6 performance, but State fans should not be calling for the dudes head.

Guess ppl shouldn't respond next time and you won't have that outside opinion.

Also, LSU might be young and inexperienced, but they have more talent than State.

Not trying to be a Homer here, but where you have them in the season isn't a good spot. Arkansas will have a better chance with them later in the season. I will note that if State beats LSU that week, I will feel more comfortable about our odds.
