Is Bama the only school to have two "national championships" without even winning their own conference?

AU tried multiple times to renew the rivalry, but Alabama's board was afraid:

Pretty smart board.

Mike Dyer 2011 - 1,242 yards rushing
Mike Dyer 2010 - 1093 yards rushing
Ben Tate 2009 - 1,362 yards rushing

Now, who's running back hasn't had a 1,000 yard season in 3 years?

I like you, you're a good Bama poster it was more of an ironic, sarcastic post directed at Al Capone cause all he's done for two days is troll. It wasn't directed at you and I'm sorry if you think I way lying.

I'm sorry, but you're going to need to get a user name that indicates less obsession with your rival in order for me to take any of your "questions" seriously.

Thank you, I think. I think "good poster" is a much better compliment, because when an Auburn or LSU fan says "good Bama poster," I'm thinking that the bar isn't set too high in their mind.

I said "think" a lot in that last paragraph. This is a sign of lazy writing.

I didn't think you were lying. It was more of a subtle joke - you know, the kind that doesn't go over too well on message boards. "It's not irony, it's just LYING." That sort of thing.

Um, no. It was over money.

LINK

Records show that money within the game contracts was the primary stumbling block. Also, records show Auburn wanted an unbiased ``Northern man'' to officiate the game.

During the 1907 game, the hotel allowance for 17 men from each team was $2 per man, per day, including lodging and meals. On Jan. 23, 1908, Alabama coach J.W. Pollard received a proposed contract from Auburn football manager Thomas Bragg asking for $3.50 per day for 22 men from each team for two nights for a game to be played at Birmingham's Fair Grounds.

Alabama offered $3 per day for 20 men for two nights. Even then, Auburn and Alabama fans had trouble agreeing on anything and apparently a discrepancy of $34 could not be resolved until 41 years later.

Bama was saving that money so that we could pay Coach Saban 6 decades later. It's called forward thinking, Auburn. You should look into it. Also, compound interest can be a lovely thing.

Well, I differentiate between the schools. I will say shitty Bama, Arky, LSU, AU posters...or good Bama, Arky, LSU, AU posters. I like to point out that both exist simultaneously in fan-bases

# meaning Arkansas and UGA are pushes. Auburn will probably lose to one, but not both.

I'm predicting a win against Bama and guessing that we drop one to a team we aren't supposed to so I chose Vandy.

Crazy I know -- upsets never occur in college football.

Those two guys aren't your RB. Those guys are your former RBs. Your current RB hasn't had a 1000 yard season rushing. If Dyer was back, then Auburn would be stronger on paper. That being said, he was obviously a team cancer.

Because he hasn't shown he can be an every down guy. He's fast but really more of a third down back. The top 2 guys on the depth chart are small. He's a good player but more of a Dexter McCluster guy.

Oh come on. He has been close without getting the carries of a number 1 back. We also have a bunch of other talented backs.

Bama and LSU don't have 1000 yard backs either. Only 1 team has a RB returning that had 1000 yards last year and that is Vandy.

Arky and USCe return RBs that have a 1000 yards in other seasons.
