Almost only counts in horseshoes and hand-grenades. We won that game.

They scored 14, 10, 7, 14 against Arky, LSU, Georgia, and Bama. They were ranked 104 in total offense. Both sides of the ball were subpar.
Geez, I wonder why? I'm sure that only returning 3 starters on the O-line, 4 starters on the D-line and 0 on Special Teams had absolutely nothing to do with that.

It's a shame that recruiting isn't everything. Are you telling me that you think that Auburn is close to LSU in terms of (now developed) talent on the field? They aren't
I'll have to see how much our 1st and 2nd year players improved over the winter and summer before I can give a definite answer but I think it is a lot closer than you are giving us credit for.

So you're telling me that the Big 12>>SEC?

im not so sure. Lemonier is gonna have his hands full. aTm's biggest strength is their OTs
Once again, our defense will be better than last year.

i agree that is an advantage for Auburn. But will it be enough?
I bet it will be. TAMU looses to Auburn at JHS. Bookmark it.

so you're trolling
You're not saying that they're better, you're just assuming that we turn it over and they play flawless.
Sound reasoning.

A&M plays LSU the week before Auburn and Auburn plays Vandy the week before.
Yes, Vandy is an improved team under Franklin, but we should be a much less bruised coming into the game.

But you struggled against a bad team. The point is that normally teams don't go from barely beating Utah State to being a top team in one year.

But who do you return right now that was good last year. You have a very young OL. Lutz and Blake are very good. Your RB is fast but very small. Your QB is unproven. Returning very few defensive and special teams guys didn't account for the offense being awful. You've also lost your best offensive player in Dyer and your OC. I'm not saying Auburn can't improve but on paper there are a lot of questions. I think thats very fair.
Vegas has Auburn tied with Penn State, Miss State, and Mizzou at 100/1 odds of a title. That wouldn't be the case if there were less question marks. Clemson is currently at 30/1 and I think most people agree that they have no shot of winning anything.
I do think Auburn has some reason to be opimistic with very good recruiting and new coaches, however I just think it is going to take a bit more time to turn everything around.

no bro im not trolling. ive been saying the entire time that i think the game comes down to QB play. Its not "waffling" just because I acknowledge there are some aspects of the game where AU has an advantage. do you think Frazier or Moseley are beyond fricking up? are you comfortable with either of those guys leading the team in a close game?

Yup. Twas' him.
I'll bet you that i could have found more assholes in Orlando florida that didnt give a frick about Casey Anthony than there are people in Lee County who dont give a frick about Updyke.
Plus, if you wanted to know the facts surrounding the Casey Anthony case you had to sit down and watch hours of Nancy Grace or some other show and sit down and figure it out for yourself. With Updyke, it takes thirteen seconds for anyone you come into contact with to tell you what happened.
by the Nancy Grace crowd, sure. but a lot of people in whatever podunk county in florida she was living in werent giving two shits about that. Lots of ordinary folks dont read papers, dont watch CNN, dont give a frick about the news.
But in Lee County, you cant tell me there are lots of folks who dont know about Auburn football and the tree poisoning incident.

I think saying that game may come down to QB play is pretty fair. JHS is obviously a tough place to play so there is some advantage there but both teams have a huge unknown. Auburn with 2 new coordinators and Sumlin against SEC defenses is also a huge unknown. I do think this is one of the more interesting games of the year.

Maybe! But, all I have to go on is the product on the field. Returning starters are great and all, but it's hard to make up 30+ points against stable teams in a single year. I could be wrong, but at this point, thinking that Auburn is close to Bama, LSU and even Georgia isn't backed up (in my opinion) by results on the field. Good luck, though. I will hate Auburn with the heat of a thousand suns when the season starts, but right now you guys seem ok.

I agree. I think you'll see a good bit of improvement from our younger players this year.

It's not really fair to complain that a troll thread is being trolled by trolls other than the trolls who started it. Read the first three pages - Auburn fans reeling 'em in left and right.
