Your point was that LSU beat Auburn head to head in the 2018-2019 season and therefore had bragging rights over them, regardless of what Auburn did in the postseason.
Am I correct?

If neither wins a title, it's not really relevant. LSU won a NY6 bowl, both won a piece of the SEC in basketball, though Auburn went further. Auburn is 2 games better in baseball. None of that matters since LSU didn't win the title in football, Auburn didn't in basketball, TBD in baseball.
If Auburn wins the CWS, it would be silly for LSU fans to play the "we beat you" card, but some will. I'm not being unreasonable here so there's not really a gotcha to be had.
