Posting pics will never tell the whole story. It doesn't matter if he had three hands on the ball as he was falling backwards, the ground can't cause a fumble but it can cause an incompletion. The ball jarred loose as he hit the ground, and by rule he must maintain possession through hitting the turf. It was never simultaneous. He lost control, and Reed gained control before the ball touched the turf. It was exactly the right call, and anyone who thinks otherwise is lying to themselves.
It's clear if you think of it this way. Williams is alone and that ball pops out of his hands as he hits the turf. LSU player dives on it, and you would have been screaming incomplete, and you would be right.

I'm trying to find a picture of Gaffney's "catch" in 2000, but it's nowhere to be found. FEC doin work?
Anyone who actually believes that was a catch needs to be beaten to death in front of everyone they love.
