Jesus, dude. No one is complaining about the transfer portal. We've had a shitload of players transfer out before. How the frick do you think you guys got Aaron Anderson. We're complaining that it can be open for only one school and 130 teams are bidding on players from one goddamn roster.

This prevents coaches from lying and signing players without giving a heads up that they are leaving or quitting. You only have your former coach to blame for this. Deal with it

That's a problem not just within sports. It's everywhere. There's always been a few greedy people but now that ratio of greed vs people just wanting to do the right has changed quite a bit.

It's kind of understandable though. You can't not include people in equity and then now they have some power, they're going to be making use of it.

We really shouldn't complain.

I don't blame them one bit.

Yeah it might suck to see some 5* from Peachtree City sign with Michigan or whoever when you know the kid wore #24 in peewee - HS because he wanted to be like Knowshon Moreno but as much money is in college athletics, I don't really blame them for making a business decision.

The universities are subsidized at the customer level (student loans and Pell grants, state funded scholarships like HOPE) and at the producer level (government funding) so tuition has gone thru the roof.

Athletic ticket prices are sky high, even after the large payouts from the TV deals passing thru the conference. I have to donate at a high enough level just to get the option of buying tickets, and those ticket prices are stupid high.

This is a bubble and I can't blame athletes for taking advantage of it while it exists.

The days are long gone of a school's football team being representative of the football players from that state/area.
