UGA is funny though. They almost got beat by Kentucky last year. They are not like Bama. They have a tendency to not show up for some games.

I have no problem with Phil being a contrarian from time to time. It's not implausible that Georgia has a let down game against a rival away from home.

I struggle to see how Tennessee's swiss cheese defense will make Georgia punt once.

I know its not the popular opinion with my brethren, but you can count me in the camp as thinking this game will be much closer than we want it to be. Our guys are coming off of a huge emotional high from last week, and a trip to Knoxville has rarely resulted in a blow out favoring UGA. I would LOVE to be wrong.

This team has a different vibe than last year's by far. Like 90% of our defense last year was just trying to not get hurt and get through the season before collecting that NFL paycheck. This year's defense, while statistically not as good (YET) is young and hungry. Our offense is just as good or better (our OL play seems to be better for sure).

Richt has been pulling no punches (fake punt against clemson, big 4th down calls against SC and LSU). I just feel like this team has their head more focused than last year. Also, last year we essentially had 2 BIG tests in the regular season, getting killed in teh 1st and winning the 2nd. This year we've already beat 2 top 10 teams. I truly believe UF and to a lesser degree AU will be the only regular season games we play that will give us much difficulty.

The best thing that could happen for UGA is for UT to start on offense and Worley to walk out on the field.

So long as that happens UGA's walking away with a 25+ point victory.

UT can't stop UGA, they have some of the worst depth in the SEC, and they don't have speed.

They've got a very solid WR #8 but their QB's thus far have been awful wouldn't be surprised if they trotted out the freshman this week.

UT isn't going to put up 40 on UGA and their defense certainly can't stop UGA from scoring 40+.

All that other stuff is just noise in the background, an emotional victory won't make Marshall run slower, or make Murray miss wide open WRs...

True enough. But I guess this entire year is funny. Bama isn't like Bama- or so it seems. I KNOW the LSU O isn't like the LSU O- and the same could be said for the LSU D ....Who knows what'll happen next?

I still like UGA in this one, though...

I don't know about that. UGA looked shaky against North Texas a couple of weeks ago. This very well could be a close game. UGA has a long history of playing down to their opponents under Richt. Again, they are not like Alabama. They do not bring their A game every week.

Not really sure that any team bring their "A game" week in and week out this year. Case in point: I don't think Colorado St. In Tuscaloosa a few weeks ago, would qualify as bring an A game.

Alabama almost always brings it under Saban. UGA plays like Tarzan one week and Jane the next.

"Almost always" is not what you said...

Point being, its tough week in and week out to maintain the same intensity for lesser opponents. Even Bama has it happen to them. Hard to believe, I know.

I think it will be close also , UGA has given up a lot of points and lost a road game.

This is the perfect spot for a let down.

Whoever wins the turnover battle wins.

Of course, Phil could be wrong about this game like any single game. But year in and year out, on average he's the best predictor in the country of college season outcomes.

To clemson, SC, and LSU. You think UT's offense compares to those 3?

I've said it all week that I expect us to come out flat and not look all that sharp. I'm not predicting a 45-3 blowout. But this game isn't going to be all that close. I feel confident we'll cover the spread, and if we are anywhere NEAR our A game should win by 21+

The difference in these 2 teams right now is staggering. We are simply a much, much better football team, even without our best player.

I don't see UGA coming out this flat either.....might be the 2nd half until they really break it lose, but TN has shown no signs of keeping this within 3 TD's
