No doubt. And as a good Catholic boy I have much love for Notre Dame. But right now they just suck. At least they suck a little less.

Their schedule is pretty tough this year. They don't have the depth to make it through. They may pull out one surprise game early, but they'll fall off quick, fire Brian Kelly and Herbstreit will falsely report Nick Saban to ND before the SEC championship.

South Carolina will be good if Lattimore is around 95 percent. Shaw is pretty decent. Decent receiving core and decent depth. Dline is still solid without Ingram. Decent LBs and Secondary.

So UNC is #13 and NC State isn't in the top 40?

What will UNC fans do when we beat UNC for the 6th year in a row?

they have a very favorable schedule and one of the best defenses in the nation.

and one of the WORST offenses in the nation.

They will have 4 losses at a minimum:

West Virginia
Oklahoma
Kansas State
one of TCU/Oklahoma State/Baylor

I could potentially see them losing to Ole Miss in Oxford as well.

21.Notre Dame too high as usual

when I look at ratings, I try to imagine what the record would have to be at the end of the season, to slide into that slot.

#21 would be something LIKE 9-4 with a bowl win. an 8-4 regular season and a solid mid level bowl win would put Our Lady into the #21 position.

In the early online betting line, ND is favored in all games except Mich State -3 and USCw -13. Mich is ND -1 ie Mich would be favored except that its at South Bend.

So... 9-3 is reasonable. Therefore
#21 is a lowball guess.

VA Tech finished (11-3) @ 21 after the bowl loss to Michigan

Clemson(10-4) was 22 after the bowl game slaughter

they won't have one of the worst offenses. Its going to be better than last years and even then they were just out of the top 50.

and lose to Ole Miss?

dial back your hateraid b/c its clearly blinding your judgement.

they also get nearly every tough game at home.

I hate to say it but they have a legit shot at 9 or 10 wins going into their bowl and if they win that they will get the pollster love and get bumped up to the top 10.

Correct me if Im wrong, but I think this is based off how Phil thinks they will finish. Reading the write up on FSU, he says they will have the best defense in the country and they will go 12-0.

Now I highly doubt that btw
