What recourse does kiffin have if Charlie says no? Fire him and then Charlie stays at ole miss or goes to just about any other college or maybe an nfl job he wants. That would be an even better look for Kiffin

Is Ole Miss going to fire the OC they just hired to keep CWJ? All anyone has heard was that CWJ made terrible play calls and you can tell when he calls the plays versus Lane. Now, Lane moved on and it was never Lane's offense and Pete was the real hero.

If they can maintain two jobs and not short-change Ole Miss's playoff run or LSU's portal recruiting keep it going. We will see if Pete can really run a program, but Lane left it in a great place for him.

LSU does not really hold any cards here to play. They can force them to come back to BR, but that will just add to the negative image that Kiffin has created around him.

And this wouldn't play well with recruiting.

"If you make the playoffs, that coach might ditch you anyway" is going to already be used against Kiffin. Everyone being able to use that against the entire staff would be awful for LSU with any players who aren't just chasing a bag.

So y'all knew it, and condoned it, as long as he stayed at OM and was winning. Got it!

Especially recruiting any Ole Miss players to follow them to LSU.

Leave them during the playoff run and then ask them to follow them to LSU?

I'm not sure that would go over very well.

Plus, what if Ole Miss wins it all without any of LSU's staff coaching. The media narrative would be so bad for Lane. And, our players would have spent two weeks with the new staff and won the games.

Lacy abandoned by his position coach only to have Frank Wilson in his ear for two weeks while he wins a title. Good luck getting that transfer.
