Not at Stanford, but as you say might be a common theme there regarding QB development. Kaepernick will have a tougher time once the D's start adjusting to his tendencies. That Seattle D is nasty...although they will have an uphill battle losing both corners.

for the same reason that he might not leave in the first place, because he's getting old.

Carroll is obviously better, much better.
Am I doing this right?

boom what? You didn't even answer the question in the OP
Eta I hope you're not insinuating that a NFL coach couldn't step down and recruit a high level
I didn't answer the OP because it is a silly question. I'm not insinuating anything about NFL coaches. Are you saying all good NFL coaches would automatically be good college recruiters? Hell teenagers would drive many of them to alcoholism in the first year. Carroll obviously was a good recruiter and had great success at USC. I'd still give the nod to Saban. In the NFL Carroll is obviously (for now, at least) doing a better job than Saban at Miami. But to try to derive from that who is the better coach is to me meaningless.

Maybe but why would he take the Browns job? Weeden was a first round pick. For better or for worse, the Browns are stuck with him for the next couple years. Why not wait for a job to open up with a talented, young QB in place like the Lions or Panthers?
Bench, i agree. I dont think he will head to the Browns (his boy Trent is there). But maybe another opening elsewhere could be too much for him to resist. I would say that his NFL stint has been his only coaching failure. He might want to fix that.

Pete Carroll all day. Anybody who disagrees is an idiot, plain and simple. Winning in the NFL is a million times harder than winning in college. Savannah realized that and ran back as fast as he could.
Saban is not a great coach. He is the best recruiter in college sports and his teams show it.
How is this even a question? Seriously.

The parity in the NFL means you need a good coach to win. Not so much in college.

Well then you are a fricking moron who knows nothing because it is easy to "derive" that answer.

I do think he's a bit overrated in terms of X's and O's but come on this is a bit ridiculous.

any NFL coach stepping down as automatically going to have a leg up in recruiting on someone who hasn't been in the NFL. These kids want to go to the league. and you honestly think some teenage kids out of high school are harder to control than some of these thug millionaires who can skip the head coach and go straight to the owner if they have a problem with not getting the ball thrown at them enough?

Saban is about to win his 3rd NC in 4 years, his 4th college NC.
Carroll only won one and it got vacated.
Anyone who'd rather have Carroll coaching their college team is a rantard.
Also this is Carroll's 2nd try at the NFL, he failed miserably his first try there.

Gotta love LSU fans and their rational responses.

The "cheating" in the NFL is all the same for each team, Saban couldn't get away with half his "advantage" crap in the NFL and thus he got run out of the league and went back to where the shade was deepest.

Yeah Saban has been caught "cheating" a ton of times.Great point.
