I'm assuming winning is a required element of determining what is or isn't a rivalry.

We definitely do not qualify in this instance.

I don’t know that I’ve ever heard a Kentucky fan talk about State like anything more than another game on the schedule. Or if I have, it’s been rare.

A rivalry needs to be competitive in my opinion to be a true rivalry.

I feel the same with Auburn TBH. It's been soooo long since they beat us in a meaningful game and we're like 13-3 in the last 15 years. It's not even a rivalry at this point.

It is the deep south oldest rivalry and I live in atlanta and I know UGA fans hate Auburn fans. When UGA lost to UF 15 out of 17, I think that was still considered a rival.

Well, I also live in Atlanta and I went to UGA and I can tell you, the rivalry has lost its luster due to Auburn's inability to be competitive.

There's no reason to hate a team that can't beat you.

That's different though because despite that crazy run, UGA still led the all time series by a wide margin. We had been doing that to UF for decades.

You seem really excited to beat the worst Arkansas teams to ever exist. All teams go through ups and downs, things will go back to normal soon

I know what you mean. Now that we've shed ourselves of our B.O. maybe Drink can get us back to where Pinkel had us competing for East titles and trips to Atlanta.

As fas as having Arkansas as a cross division rival, I enjoy it. I think them hosting our game in Little Rock is beyond stupid since we're the only SEC school for which LR represents a longer road trip, but then playing in Little Rock at all is ridiculous - something a coach with a juice would have nixed years ago.

Every year I expect the old rivalry games to be diminished and they are. The divisions have created their own poison and recent tradition among SEC teams. The bigger the division games the more bitter they become.

Getting to Atlanta is everything. Win in Atlanta and you are in the 4 team playoff. The old traditional games can't hold a candle to that new-age goal.

UF-LSU is a forced rivalry.

UGA AUBURN is the 2nd longest rivalry in all of football, not to mention the oldest in the south.
UT has only played Vandy more times. Bama has played no other team more.

UF has played UGA- 98 times
LSU has played MSU- 113 times

DSOR- 125 games
TSIO- 102 games
LSU-UF- 66 games

One is not like the others.

For UGA fans it really depends on where you live..

Most of the fans who are from the Atlanta area say it’s GT. For those west of Atlanta it’s Auburn.
The foothills hate UT. Macon south is all about the WLOCP. Even though it’s not seen as big, people around Augusta really take the USC game seriously.

Gotta look at the big picture. We only have a 4-5 game advantage on the whole series, and it's taken dominance from 2000 on to get out of the hole.
