Vol fans are going to have to be patient with Dooley. He is a good coach, but you probably wont see it much this year. Give it time folks.
Believe me, we know. Even if some of our fans are going crazy and wanting to see instant success, I think most of us know that UT won't have very much immediate success in the next year or two. The schedule this year is brutal and we are replacing a bunch of guys. I'm really just hoping our new QB/RB don't get seriously injured because of poor offensive line play.

Defense will hold this team together, it's going to be much better than most people are expecting. The offensesive line and QB are the biggest ?'s. We have plenty of talent and experience at WR, RB, and TE. I think we have a year very similiar to last year probably 6 or 7 wins.

Of Course we can upset one of the title contenders in Bama, Florida, LSU, UGA. We could lose to some one we shouldn't, but these are my early predictions.

I don't see it either, but would you have guessed we would have been that close to winning this past year? This time, UT will be at home and Alabama has lost a lot. Bama's offense will have improved, but the defense will have less experience and would be more likely to have a bad game.
That being said, I think Bama smashes us, and very possibly repeats as national champs.

I'm not really sure what to expect this year as far as our win loss record. If UT, for the most part, holds it together, and Dooley recruits well, I'll be pretty happy.
We are throwing a lot of new guys into the fire very early this season, with Oregon and Florida coming early, and having to go to LSU, Georgia, and South Carolina while hosting the Tide. I'm sure Mississippi will be tough as well.
Looking at the schedule, I'd be pretty happy with 7 wins. If UT at least makes a bowl and is, for the most part, competitive in games they lose, I can't be too upset. My big fear is that UT gets destroyed a few times early and the team just gives up on the season.

I thought it was proven a while back that Saban and Miles are about the same height. Give and inch or two. Do we have to dig up the pictures again?

That's a legitimate fear. Ya'lls early schedule is very difficult. You don't have much time to work out the kinks.

Dude you don't have anything to worry about. {prettyboy} is coming this year remember? He's good for a few wins right there. Then if things get hairy I'm sure Mike Nance can have a little talk with some officials and swing some things. Yall will be fine.

I'd be more worried about Richt falling flat on his face again, even with all of UGA's alleged talent, than taking swipes at a recruit who spurned your school.

Teams lose out on recruits every year, it's part of the territory. I can live with it. What sucks is the blatant brainwashing and meddling by a grown up in the biggest decision of an 18 year olds life, only steering him where HE wanted him to go to better benefit HIS no talent son. That's why it irks me.

They defended him in the most absurd manner. Because of that, they lose all sympathy from me (even though I do like their coach)- I hope they lose all their games this year. They ate up his idiotic routines while he was their and they're paying the piper now for believing in that arse clown.
I feel the same way. There were so many vocal supporters of that obvious douchebag I was truly shocked. I never read or heard of a Tennessee fan expressing displeasure with Kiffin's antics. I never had a problem with UT until that BS. They need to experience the full wrath of karma until their debt is paid to the rest of the SEC.

Don't give me that crap. No one can really tell me their feelings are hurt by this situation. Kiffin made a bunch of comments. So what? I dont mind if people think that he's a bad, or at least unproven, coach, but he wasn't any worse than Spurrier as far as what he said. Of course UT fans are going to like it if someone is taking shots at Florida. I'm pretty sure Bama would have thought it was hilarious if Shula said whatever he wanted about Auburn. He said whatever he wanted. There's no reason to get offended by it if you have such a low opinion of him. There's no debt to pay off to the SEC. UT fans stuck up for their coach. Big deal. UT defending Kiffin's big mouth is not any worse than Kentucky fans sticking up for Calipari's past recruiting scandals, or even UT fans defending Bruce Pearl.

My feelings are not hurt, but no, I would not defend the things Kiffin said or the way he went about things when he got to UT- I would have been embarassed by them.

It's really going to start bothering people when Kiffin starts winning NC's left and right at USC.

Why? I just want to win. I know he didn't win anything before he left, but in my opinion, he made some serious strides to get there. You can disagree, but there are far worse things to be embarrassed about than a coach who speaks his mind.

Yeah... I wouldn't mind if he got hit by a bus before then.

as for defending Kiffin, what the frick do you expect? last time I checked, Florida fans were defending Brandon Spikes's eye gouging and the referees of Arky-UF game. people will defend their coach, especially first year coach unless the coach is proven to be a loser forever (i.e Fulmer).
I can't believe I'm still defending him even after he left, but last year he did bring an excitement to a sinking program(5-7 thanks to Fulmer) offseason and got the fans all pumped up. this was a necessity for a fanbase who lost interest and hope for a long time.

no damn way i'd have guessed that. it was just me hoping that i DON"T have a reason to freak out this year.
i got nothing but hate AND respect for your program. it's why i like to say "cute" to y'all. i want to do my part in removing all hope in your current status ;)

Yeah, Pete Carroll only won one BCS championship and Kiffin is going to start winning them left and right?
