Go find one thread by me on this subject, one. Also, two wrongs don't make a right.

correct. and once the compliance department found out, they stopped him which is exactly what the ncaa expects them to do. so, no problems.

Absolutely 77 let's jst frick the small business owner of a contract he has with the univ to provide game day attire to the players that they are required to wear.
So if saban required them all to drive new cars do they all just go down to t-town Dodge and pick one up? lol

Its not a violation for him to sell autographed stuff. Only if the players were getting the benefits

This story could have some legs. There are pictures out there of this guy partying with players and pictures of the guy at porn conventions. Definitely not a guy I would want associated with my program.

thanks for being practical Ice Cold. These Bama fans have been posting garbage on us since October and once it turns on them, they whine like little bitches in 5 days.

2 things most of the threads including AtPB were started by LSU fans on their site. Second I don't believe any of these guys were part of ATPB and last the NCAA IS investigating Auburn for Cam and whatever else is going on.This situation was handled 8 mos ago and the NCAA is not investigating it this is just a flame. Auburn started this horseshite with the Gadsden crap. You don't see the difference in threads about an open investigation and one some of your fans keep making up.

Reading comprehension would have benefitted you on this one. Go back and read it again and you will see I said some. I also wrote I was tired of this back and forth gotcha crap.

You're comparing a game day suit to providing cars. Are you serious?

i believe it is. you cannot sell footballs that are autographed by amateur athletes. however, you can buy a football and get the player to sign it afterward.

You can sell autographed merchandise on your own.
You cannot have players come into your store to help you advertise.
It's a secondary violation if the players didn't make any money off of it.

Irony.

you know what i meant. STORES CAN'T SELL THEM.

Then thousands of people across the country are guilty of it

You are so mistaken by who started the threads. Yes many by LSU, but plenty by Bama fans. I know I have been here the whole time and saw the phrase "Surprise a new thread about Auburn by a Bama fan" too many times to count. TIA I am done here.

If true then all of us are in a shitload of trouble then because I don't know a college that doesn't have signed stuff on the Internet not for sale. As long as the players aren't getting money then the NCAA should have no say in what someone not a player does with his merchandise.

find me a store online that has a CURRENT players autograph on something for sell. don't post an individual just the store.

I think they can. May be a grey area because internet websites are considered "stores," and you can sell a football autographed by the upcoming 2011 Auburn football team with nothing to worry about.
But usually these autographs come from university sponsored fan days and autograph sessions.
Having the guys in the store to autograph merchandise to sell is a no-no.
This might be a "Cam Newton" case where a rule hasn't been written clearly enough yet.
Then again, like I said, based on what we can see from the photos, it's probably just a secondary violation that stinks like fish.

I didn't say a store but to me it shouldn't matter. The NCAA SHOULD NOT have the right to tell someone not a player or a coach what he or she can sell whether it be from their store or an individual on the Internet. I am not saying you domt know the rule just that it is a bullshite rule. This with the understandng that the player is not profiting.

You did see the story on Ohio State and their tattoos didn't you ? I'm just kidding, I'm sure all these players just came in to hang out with this man. happens all the time. Oh yea and just because that jersey he was signing had a price tag on it he still didn't know it was going to be sold.
