All this stuff is getting pretty nasty. It reminds me a lot of the SMU ordeal back in the 80's. I sincerely hope it's not true.

What is Auburn gonna do to deflect attention from HBOGATE since they don't have any more trees to kill?

My best guess:

Some "crazy bammer" kidnaps all the janitors on AU's campus and holds them for ransom.

To me those people are the heroes who expose the truth. The real shitheads are the ones like James and Dickerson who continue to be in complete denial. AKA the liars and the cheats.

James kinda implied it.

I've never understood Dickerson. Guys don't want to hurt their school, however SMU went down in flames. At a certain point you can tell the truth and it doesn't hurt anyone. Instead he just looks like a liar.

It's like Barry Bonds. You're already guilty in the public eye. Just admit you did it and don't risk jail. However, he just kept lying for no reason.

How involved were the SMU coaches? I guess it was their AD who was supposedly sending letters with money wasn't it?

Here's one link:

Just Google "smu death penalty story" and you can find all kinds of info.

kramer was suprised the handshakes exist and that the players are getting hate mail for speaking out.

neither asked her about who the coach was or about hbo helping out with stanley's charity.

They got more for big plays against Alabama

Kremer to McClover: “I think in one game you had four sacks, what did you earn in that game?”

McClover: “Four thousand. Against Alabama.”

The janitors are already suing AU for racial discrimination

Andrea Kramer was just on JOX. She is the one who interviewed those players. Here is a summary:

She said that they could have had more players but they wouldn't pay them for the interviews. She also said that HBO was working on the Cam Newton case and had an interview set up with someone who would tell them everything but that person canceled a day before the interview bc HBO wouldn't pay them.

It was earlier reported on al.com that Cam Newton was going to be on this special until it turned out he wasn't getting paid for it. I can only assume that Newton is the person she is talking about. He was going to rat Auburn out for money.

What a great guy...

until those 4 washouts actually drop a few names this will only amount to another smear campaign against AU... I'd love for them to actually put a name with the allegations. This innuendo without proof is pure BS...

Well, it's kinda like hoping someone with a terminal condition doesn't die, yet there's only a very thin "thread of hope" that they won't. It's like watching an impending train wreck in slow motion.

I think it is more about lawsuits than anything. The NCAA is going to ask for names now. Who knows what will happen, however after the last year it is just more bad news.

Yeah, I know. Auburn's good at sending messages to people who don't behave like good little plainsmen

I'm not going to be online much today it looks like every former Auburn player and their mother are lashing out at these four.

It is worth mentioning that three of the four have their own personal axes to grind against Auburn, and McClover is getting benefits for the interview.

I'm not saying they are lying, not even close, even if I'd like to believe they were.

This is PR that isn't going to go away for a long time to say the least. I just hope that Auburn didn't do anything wrong, and if they did they need to get their crap under control because as much as the current system sucks, all schools have to have some degree of compliance.
