Just now on local espn radio. Caller says he has booster friends in Oxford, and they told him that game in 2011 was the moment they got together and decided they would start to push the envelope.
Discuss.

Yeah, I'm sure after decades of ineptitude it was that one game against a national title participant that really sealed the deal.

This isn't the first time they been long dicked by the NCAA. Last time Ole Miss tried to be a decent program, in fact, they were put on probation

Host goes on to say he was told OM sent a representative to the LSU locker room at halftime and informed LSU coaches they would be "mailing it in" for the second half, and this is what caused Miles to chastise Mett for the sneak and take a knee.

Do you want to be a little more specific about the particulars of the game you are referring to? I assume OM historically gets mercy kneed 5-6 times a season?

Les Miles killed Ole Miss
Damn

That instance, and Dan Mullen standing in the locker room in Oxford and proclaiming "we're never going to lose to that team again" drove them to cheatin'

Mercy Knee
That was quite possibly the most embarrassing moment in SEC history with 1/9/12 being a close second.

It was Dan Mullen and the thought of losing to State 4 years in a row that pushed them over the ledge

Watched the mercy knee from a bar. was drinking beer as I saw it. Spilled a little..
Good OM memorable night.. Very similar to this Bowl ban.

LSU is drumming Ole Miss. 3rd string QB comes in (Mett) and performs a naked bootleg to perfection, attempting to score. Miles rips into him and well.. then come the knees

10-4, thanks. Remember that now- just had to clear a few cobwebs up there and drink a little more coffee!

I do not think the NCAA cared that Ole Miss was becoming a decent program. I think some of the Status Quo Programs of the SEC were worried and got the NCAA involved.

No 1.9.12 LSU put up a fight and lost to a better team. They never just quit. They've never just quit.
