Kenny Rogers was a runner that got his information from Cam’s dad. He told our alums what it was going to take to get Cam and then Cam ended up at Auburn. If you cant figure out what happened there and think Auburn didn’t pay him then you are truly stupid.

I'm a Titan fan and I was screaming for us to sign Cam rather than keep Ryan Tannehill. RT cost the Titans $30M a year.
Titans could have gotten Cam Newton and Jameis Winston both to 3-4 year deals and had $20M a year to spend on other positions.
They could have kept our RT Jack Conklin and used our first rd pick on another position.

Cam Newton.
1. Good football player. Not an elite QB but a good player.
2. Just 30 years old.
3. Basically had 2019 off from getting hit to restore himself.
I bet he has a good year for the Pats. Maybe even a great year.

FYI the Titans first pick in the draft was Wilson a RT out of Georgia to replace Jack Conklin.
Nothing against the guy but he seems very similar to DJ fluker from Bama 7 years ago. I'm afraid he will end up being a right guard.

Is that so? That must be why grown men, on this very board, still call him $Cam

Do they get there without Cam?

Where's the evidence, smart guy? A year long NCAA investigation with the FBI allegedly involved and not one god damn dime was ever uncovered.
Sorry Miss State is dirty. Didn't you all actually get bitchslapped by the NCAA a year or two after that?

Google..........Kenny Rogers Ex-Mississippi State football player. Let me know what you find.

Lord have mercy. Your go to for this is “where’s the evidence?” Really? The evidence is that his dad asked us for 180K and he went to another school. Just because your boosters were not stupid enough to get caught giving him money doesn’t mean that common sense should not prevail. Congrats. He’s a great player and I wish we would have not gotten outbid. To think you didn’t pay him is completely asinine.

I’m well versed on how it went down with Kenny Rogers. Maybe you should google some common sense and find out why he went to Auburn when his dad was shopping his son and asking Kenny Rogers for money for his son’s signature. It was just on every single major network In the country that his father was shopping his son. It should not be hard to find. If you’d like for me to post some links I will.
“Documents related to the NCAA's investigation released in November 2011 indicated Cecil Newton and Rogers sought between $120,000 and $180,000 for Cam Newton to sign with Mississippi State. Newton instead signed with Auburn in February 2010.“

if State would have paid him, he would have gone there. State didn't so he went to Auburn.......which is closer to home and had a much better roster.
ETA Kenny Rogers was neck deep in it and Kenny Rogers was only involved in Cam's recruitment to State.

I mean that’s possible. State could have said no we aren’t paying you and he went to Auburn for free. I doubt that happened but it is not as ridiculous as him turning down 180K to state and going to Auburn for free. I believe we offered him and Auburn outbid us. His dad asked us for money and that’s pretty much universally accepted in the reporting world.

This has to be some sort of cultural appropriation
This has to offend every syrup bottle lady ever

That plays is where Cam Newton's career officially began to decline.

Retarded is thinking 180k would get it done. State gets sanctioned for a player they didn't even get...more retarded. You're the conference window lickers
Posted on 6/29/20 at 2:41 pm to Reservoir dawg
Retarded was lowly state thinking they had a chance hanging with anyone when landing a huge recruit

Listen to yourself. I believe. Universally accepted. You have nothing. You are a jealous, butthurt State fan. Cecil saw what was happening with MS ST recruitment and knew it was trouble so he advised his son to go elsewhere.
What you have to admit is you don't know shite. Did you see any money change hands? You only have what you believe. Congrats.
