6. COVID seniors

lots of players scattered among the ranks w/ an extra year of eligibility meaning a larger pool of athletes the smaller schools had to choose from, couple that with their 5 star peers in 2019 are all likely gone pro at this point a 23 or 24 year old seasoned senior on their 6th year will be better than most if not all 18 year old freshman. I expect some regression to the mean next year d/t this.

I agree, and I believe it will ultimately be detrimental to the NFL. College players aren't receiving the proper development anymore; they constantly move between teams in search of playing time. This year's college football has already shown signs of sloppiness, and I think that in the future, the NFL may create its own developmental league and start recruiting top talent straight out of high school.
The NFL doesn't want high school players though.

The product the NFL gets in the future maybe diluted compared to what they've harvested in the past due to reduced development at the college level, but I don't see them ever paying for a developmental league as long at CFB exists.

I agree with this, the physical and mental maturity of a 23 yr old is drastic compared to an 18 yr old.

Combination of all those things, and I think NIL gets far too much credit for the success of the top 5 teams.

Another thing to add to the list is there arent a whole lot of teams starting from scratch with an all new coaching staff. It's possible to have success right out of the gate with coaching turnover, but that's more of an outlier than the norm...same with teams starting true Freshman QB's.

Trevor Lawrence kind of reset expectations for
5* true Freshman QB's, but the reality is that a position (along with O-line) that needs development. For example Nico struggling a bit is to be expected, and doesn't really reflect how his overall career will be.
