I got you. I have played music in BR many times and have had great times there and still keep up with friends I have met there so I want to return the favor and let you know what's up. I'm a little older than you but I get what your looking for.
Saturday is going to be a mess. The library is a good place to watch the game with a crazy environment all into the game but cover and younger crowd packed to capacity is a consideration. Good people watching but it will be crazy.
George Porter is playing Friday night at Larry's which is gonna be the shite and they have another Louisiana soul act that will be good playing Saturday after game. Larry's has an older crowd (read not stupid acting a fool, from both fan bases) so I would recommend that for what your looking for. Good food, bartenders and environment. The Chelsea's of Oxford if you're familiar.
City Grocery upstairs has a damn fine muffuletta and quality bartenders and an older crowd. The balcony is nice too. Same for Boure. Both on the square and owned by James Beard award winning chef John Currence. Both Larry's and the other two are owned by Louisiana natives. Boure may not be best for watching though. Great balcony overlooking the square and good bartenders.
I'm already too wordy but wanted to let you know so I will leave it with those.

Larry's if you want to watch the ball game without being surrounded by a young obnoxious crowd. Boure if you want good food.

I just looked at Blue Canoe on tripadvisor before I read your post here. The food there looks different but spectacular!
Blue Canoe is solid for food as is Neon Pig and KOK in Tupelo. Basically, wherever JD Hill is cooking that night. Someone told me he has a food truck now, so he may not be working those places any longer. I don't really know. I haven't been back for a while.

We had a great time at the library but they wanted like 50 bucks after the UGA game last year. And I think we left at halftime and got there before it got slammed

The library is fun. They'll probably have an $80 cover though on gameday
See... it's called the Library... but it's a bar...

Tupelo is under a boil water notice. Bars and restaurants may limited.
Posted on 10/20/17 at 2:52 pm to Vecchio Cane
There's not a high end bbq joint in Tupelo.
Unless you're thinking of neon pig, but they're known for their burgers, not bbq.

The food trucks in Tupelo are pretty awesome. Local Mobile is probably my favorite one.

That kind of through me off as well. Bishops, to me, has the best BBQ in Tupelo. Neon Pig's bacon is freaking amazing!

It was Neon Pig. Idk why I remember it as a BBQ joint. Good times though

Have you tried Mike's BBQ? My new favorite.

I haven't tried it yet. My wife isn't a BBQ fan, so most of the time that we eat BBQ is family events and such and I get to do the cooking in my smoker for that.

I feel your pain. Mrs Cane never picks BBQ or Chinese, 2 of my favorites.
The sacrifices we make, man

Oh man, she's only agreed to eat Chinese ONCE since we've been married. She hates it - I love it. But, she does like Thai food as well as sushi, so I give her a pass on her hating Chinese food.

I'm only getting pad thai. kimchi, or bahn mi on my own
Good Luck tomorrow
