... an outstanding tailgating and game day environment.
Highly recommended experience.
We were offered food and beverages by everyone around us before the game. Good people.
I completely understand everyone leaving early. Was surprised some stayed as long as they did.

We always hold out hope but writing has been on the wall since Temple game.

PS: Ranch Steakhouse is awesome!
Iron Star BBQ was ... not bad.
I'd post some pics of where we tailgated (right by the stadium next to where all the white pop up tents were located) but Post Images is down for maintenance right now.
Also, not rubbing it in but we watched these guys while they were filming this.

Their fans were great before, during, and after the game.

Glad you enjoyed your trip, and GG Cocks. That's a well-coached team.
Also glad you tried the Ranch. We ate there Thursday night. I always get steak but everything is good there. And I agree, re: Iron Starr. It gets great reviews but it's like they gayed up BBQ. Not a big an

I was hoping some OU fans would show up because I wanted to ask them the story behind Max Westheimer Airport?
Pretty cool set up. Very reasonable fees. Have never been through a dedicated university airport like it before. Very efficient. Top notch.

We didn't get in until pre-dawn yesterday morning because of issues here late Friday getting out.
We tailgated with Iron Star BBQ chow brought by a Gamecock local (well, Tulsa) that met us there. It was a nice spread. We had smoked ribs and a bunch of sides ... the potato salad was really good, I'll say that. Oh, and the mac & cheese. A bunch of Sooner fans told us to try Ray's next time.
The Ranch was last night and it was worth every penny! Some of the best beef I've ever had!

They really were. Nothing but good interactions all weekend. Even had some thanking us for coming after the game.

Here's our view from where we were tailgating.
I kinda liked the uniformity of it all. It was very subdued compared to what some of us are used-to traveling the circuit to SEC games throughout the decades.
Plenty of pretty girls. Lots of red dresses and cowboy boots and blue jeans and tight fitting t-shirts. Kinda the same as at Carolina except our girls wear black dresses and cowboy boots, so I thought that was interesting.
Tell ya what .... I got sunburned out there Saturday. Man oh man that was a dry heat.
Anyways, just all-around good people, good folks. Not pretentious in the least. OU is a good fit for the SEC.

This. But I attributed that to the early kickoff, Oklahoma not having a great season, us having only an average season, and there being 0 animosity between the fan bases given the lack of history/distance.
