re: Other SEC fan bases: do y’all also think there is a bias?

Speaking of those dark ages isn’t it interesting when Shula was coach at Bama, they were still the least penalized team in SEC, what ten years without a holding car in Bryant Denny, whole the great Saban was at LSU and they were always one of most penalized.....
Just try to explain that one
If you have any links to this I'll take a stab at it.

No. It’s confirmation bias from fans of programs desperate for a chink in the Alabama armor.

Bama cheats. LSU cheats. Auburn cheats. All college programs cheat. Alabama schools are best at it, and get away with it, because the NCAA feels sorry for the state of Alabama, as they should. They also feel sorry for the state of Mississippi. If not, Ole Miss would have gotten the death penalty.
What else do the states of Alabama and Mississippi have other than CFB? Nada. That’s why the CFB world, outside of those states, allows all of the cheating. We all have sympathy for Alabama and Mississippi, as we should.

Better score at least 31 on Bama or you will catch a lot of shite from Razorback fans. Fact for you, Arkansas has put up the most points on Alabama this year)
Arkansas also gave up the most points to Bama at 65. I do credit them for putting up 31 on them, but it's how close you are to them that counts.

No, I think some of y'all are just fricking idiots. The "SEC offices in Birmingham" thing hasn't been relevant since email replaced the Pony Express as the quickest and most convenient way to communicate across great distances. Catch up to the 21st century, people. Physical location means almost nothing. They could favor TAMU all day long and wouldn't have to step out of their air-conditioned offices in Birmingham for a second.
I think that telling the refs what to call or do would be utterly ridiculous. All it takes is a single official not liking the situation for the whole thing to blow up in the SEC's collective faces.
I think, in the last 15 years, four different SEC programs have won the national title. If the SEC is cheating to keep its elite programs on top, LSU would be right in the thick of it as beneficiaries to such practices.
And last, but not least, I think wild conspiracy theories are just crutches for people who take the entire thing too seriously. They can't imagine that another program could just be plain out better than them, so they invent conspiracies to explain what most people understand as just how the world works. Somebody has to be the best. That somebody doesn't have to be you. This is a realization most of us learn by the time we're legal adults.

Finally the voice of reason. A fact based post excusing the fact that Alabama, Auburn, and Ole Miss are easily the most heavily penalized schools in the SEC over the past 30 years or so. Alabama had to forfeit close to 75 football victories because some student gals in an independently owned Sup Store gave other student gals on the women's BB and Track and field free use of school books which they turned back in. After Saban arrived. Welcome to Alabama Nickie. This after Gene played Langham who got $400. from a street agent wannbe (Antonio did sign a bar napkin in fairness to the NCAA) and that cost UA about 75 more wins. In addition to about 10 years of DuBose, Fran and Shula. So thank you for all you do NCAA.

I think there is a bias, well 2 actually. This isn’t limited to Bama at all. The refs are trying to protect the top teams of the SEC, whether it’s Bama, UGA, UF, LSU, etc. there is another bias and that is understandable: crowd noise. That can unintentionally affect the refs decision.
The SEC has no problem ‘using’ the historically weak teams to bolster the big boys into top bowls and playoff games. Every darned week, we send in the film and every darned week, we get a nice letter from the SEC. sure, once in a while we get a call and it mystifies us. But definitely they don’t call fair games and as the weakest of the weak, it sucks. The playing field hasn’t been level since before the rule changes 40 years ago. And SEC football isn’t as entertaining as it used to be: who wants to watch a game where you already know the outcome.

Y’all don’t seem to get this term. It isn’t derisive.
Good luck in the game.

Should have been much more heavily penalized. Ole Miss would have gotten death if they were in TX. But thanks for pointing out that these three schools are the dirtiest. You helped prove my point.
