Would you consider this to be the numbers of a solid SEC quality DB?

at least 1 start -- 15 tkls -- 3 passes defended

At least these numbers in two of the three catagories.

above average
average
below average

If you saw a DBs stat line at the end of the season and it said

1 start - 15 tackles and 3 passes defended, assuming he played in most games

would you consider said DB to have had a solid year in the SEC or was it avg or below avg? As for as SEC DBs go.

Or if the player had those totals in two of the three categories.

Just trying to figure out what kind of production needed to be considered a good SEC DB.

Well how many games did he play in first off? Not starts a lot of players have big time contributions to games but don't start......
So your question is hard to give you an opinion

Sounds like he sat the bench primarily because he wasn't as good as the normal starting rotation.

He's not being defensive. 90% of your posts are about an Alabama player. Stop trying to be cute and just say what you are alluding to.

Not enough info. If the guy started and played in that 1 game against a quality opponent and then had a season-ending injury near the end of it - those are great stats for a db. If he made 15 special teams tackles and 3 pass breakups against the likes of Little Sisters of the Poor... not so impressive.

just trying to get an opinion as to what the board thinks a good DBs stat line would read like.

DB plays in EVERY game. He only starts 1.

He is in on 15 tkls and defends 3 passes.

Is this a good season for a DB in the SEC?

Personally I think this would be below avg for good SEC DBs. Some people have different criteria for what constitutes good.

What's your opinion? If you don't want to respond I understand.

Or you could say opposing teams were scared to throw it his way. Hence the low stat line.

ETA: There. You got a response. Now what Alabama DB are you talking about?

Thanks and that's a possibility. Kind of funny that if he's that good in pass "D" that he only started one game though.

His number of tackles is a little low too if you ask me.

Because you are used to DBs making lots of tackles and thinking that means the defense is good because you use stats in a vacuum.

Watching you spin like this until November is going to be very enjoyable.

My response is Tony Brown was a backup and in the doghouse pretty much all year and is wearing a beautiful pair of championship rings.

What would you think of a DB that played in every game and recorded 4 tackles on the season?

Passes defended is a very important stat.
