It was NCAA.com. Google it. Bless your heart, this really bothers you. Take a Midol and relax.
NCAA.com is run by Turner Interactive, not the NCAA. What you are quoting is just some random writer/editor they hired who just publishes whatever for clicks.
Once again, if there was actually such a thing, there would be guidelines and such that you could easily point to that the NCAA follows.
GoOgLE It.

The guy who claims he's no longer a fan anytime something happens?

I'm pretty sure I've been arguing the topic of national championships since before he was born.
I keep track of real/bogus national championships if you want to know who has the most bogus claims.
Which SEC teams claim the most bogus national championships - now with Texas and Oklahoma

What is your favorite memory of the 1964 season?

Only on school did it same season.
Why give unnecessary credit to the other nine programs that never accomplished both in the same year?
Dumbass......
That said, UF's run in football & basketball from 2006-08 (2 titles each) will NEVER be equaled by any school again....Even with NIL.
It was truly amazing.

Oh look, you're a dumbass who assumes everyone else is as uneducated on the topic as you are. I've debated this topic for over 40 years and the majority of it was between Notre Dame fans back in the 80's and 90s. Probably before you were even born.
It's the opposite of that. There is a clearly defined set of guidelines and then the rest are the results of those guidelines. Which is something you nor anyone else in this thread has remotely applied.
And where did those guidelines come from? Mostly from Notre Dame as they are the ones who started the retro claims and all that. In fact, they are mostly responsible for us having national championships at all.
Alabama has blown the discussion out of the water since Saban, but the debate on who had the most was once upon a time between Notre Dame and Alabama. That's why you have retro claims and all that.
But hey, if you are ignorant on college football history, then everyone else must be also right? It's quite impossible that someone knows more than you do. Meanwhile, if I was on the TV your dumbass would eat up every fricking word as fact. Because you're a RETARD.

Florida only has five? Let’s see…..2005, 2006, 2007, 2014 and this year. Seems like Florida has won a bunch more. Kentucky last won in what, 2018?

"My opinion is fact!"
What's a fact is that I'm following a set of clearly defined guidelines and then posting the results of them based on that. Meanwhile you can't really formulate a response, much less debate the merits.
Personally, I love dispelling myths like "The NCAA recognizes this" and you just come off as a bitch who can't handle someone knowing more than them on a topic.
I've barely even scratched the history. I doubt you guys even realize how much this topic originated between Notre Dame and Alabama, why Alabama claimed the retro ones(and made the 1941 mistake), etc. But in the early 80s, Notre Dame claimed 10, including retroactive claims. After Bear died, Alabama added in retro claimed including 1941 to get to 11. In 88, Notre Dame would tie it back up getting #11, their last one. Alabama made it #12 in 92.
Of course, it was really tied because the 1941 claim isn't a legit claim for Alabama and that was always the argument. And it sucked, but they were right. A math formula claim on the poll era was bad. Saban basically ended the debate.
That is where the guidelines come from. I didn't invent them. They came from decades of debate.
Then other schools started using it as an excuse to just claim whatever bullshite and that's what we've seen the past 20 years with retro claims, and many of them much worse than Alabama's 1941 claim. I keep track.
Your opinion is the one based on whatever you want to believe.

It's actually crazier that we had football, basketball, and baseball championship games/series in 2005/2006.
Two baseball games away from having all three as active champions in that timeframe.

Bless your little heart. How about being the king of college football? Like ever! The only program to have 2 GOATs which will never be replicated. It always cute the be a flash in the pan like Florida, Georgia…. Wanna bes. Greatness has consistency. Roll Tide and eat a bag of dicks with this pathetic attempt to feel relevant.
