An game that featured an absolutely epic 4th quarter including mulitiple Auburn penalties to keep Northwestern alive, Nick Fairley being a POS and Auburn players knocking over a ref mid announcement

Next year's Outback Bowl was even more a cripple fight. We sealed it with a late pick 6 to send Urban out on top.

I was there. It was great.

Pretty sure Auburn felt like we won the game and celebrated about 5 different times

It’s not New Year’s Day if you can’t watch Auburn struggle against an inferior Big-10 school

Darvin Adams and Neiko Thorpe balled out that game

Except for the weather, yeah. Spent the game getting very slowly soaked. Was in the opposite end zone to the final score, so pretty delayed celebration. But...at least we won! The Gus era has made me fear any and all bowl games.

Auburn struggling in bowl season is an American tradition

The guy I remember most is Josh Bynes.

Dude played all 115 of NW's offensive snaps, and was on special teams on every one of their PATs, FG attemtps and KOs. Think he was on the punt coverage team too.

One tough SOB.

Walt McFadden and T'sharvan Bell both had 2 INTs each

McFadden had a huge 100 yard pick 6, and iirc I think he had the game sealing INT too

Bell is still one of my all-time favorites. It's a shame Greg McElroy doesn't remember their famous encounter

I remember that Northwestern hadn’t won a Bowl Game since like the 30s

And they broke that streak like 2 years later vs Mississippi State

When was the last time Auburn had a bowl game opponent with a worst record than them?
