Feel bad? Why? Anyone who gets so worked up, good or bad, over a mascot is a fricking moron.
You can "feel bad" for me all you want, I suppose. But know that I really don't give a shite who or what ends up as our mascot. I really don't, and I really don't get what all of the fuss is about.

Half of the SEC's schools mascots have less of a connection to their university or absolutely none at all. And the other half look like this....
The only ones that arent dumb are the live mascots, which either have zero connection to the school or are "racist". With a live black bear we have a non racial BAMF mascot that has a connection to the school, so suck it haters

Because it would be the symbol of Ole Miss athletics. Yeah the inflatable Hog is silly but we still have a classic running Hog logo that you see and immediately know what school it is. I don't see Ole Miss when I see a bear wearing a suit.
