You should tell that to the Texas kids at your school then.

We had college advisors in high school telling people Ole Miss would be a great 5th choice of a school for exactly that reason.

Legacies probably get in state, and their education is so piss poor, out of state is probably cheaper than in state at some places where you could get an actual education.

We'd raise our standards but then we'd be called racist by douchers like you. Catch 22

Your state universities waive out of state fees to get kids from other states to even be slightly interested.

That's not true.
Everyone's standards are higher; so no one would fault The University of Mississippi for raising theirs. On the contrary, it would probably be applauded--particularly among academia.
Unfortunately, doing so would prevent many MS students from attending an institution of higher education; so for that reason, I agree with you that it's a lose-lose, "Catch 22" situation.

I believe this. I have a hard time believing people cheering an injury to a player. I know there are some, but not as a whole.

This....If you have to hang your hopes on winning a game through the injury of an opposing player, you are not a true sports fan. Players on both teams know the sacrifice that is required to play the game at this level and to see a season ending injury or career ending injury to your opponent just brings the game back to perspective. Sadly, some "fans" don't think about this at the time.

It's a law dude. We have the same admission standards as every other MS college. Yay!

Yes really.

Mississippi's feelings of inadequacy actually result in state laws that your inhabitants then turn around and say don't exist.

Hmmmmmm....

I didn't say it wasn't.
The problems with which OM is forced to deal (in terms of applicants/admissions) certainly aren't isolated to Oxford.
I spend much time in the Delta and all across the state--it's the same, from border to border.
I see it weekly.
It's a tough road for the state to have to hoe.

We waive it in certain situations but not for every new prospective student. God damn you're dense.

Lest we forget that a good portion of Aggie fans cheered for Colt Mccoy's injury while being carted off a couple of years ago; that was a cheap hit out of bounds as well. I did not have an interest in the game, but I did remember that part of it. Don't act holier than thou because fans are gonna fan.
