Eh there's just so much shite we don't know. Worthy could grey shirt too for as much as we know. But maybe Moore's family better off and can afford one year at OM while worthy can't. Who knows. But yeah I agree Moore is definatly better. Also we could be using worthy on the D side of the ball. I'm surprised we haven't asked prewitt to GS since he's been paying private school money, but maybe it's because he's on the defensive side of the ball where we need more help and maybe that's where worthy will be
I agree... Maybe we felt he'd be more receptive to the offer... IDK.
As far as Raven goes, I think he's going to stick with OM. Apparently he told the staff to hold his spot for him, we'll see.

But it seems like we have been his second choice all along. Whether its bama, TAM, or LSU.
I almost wish the kid would go somewhere else and quit stringing our schollie crunch any farther.
Either he wants to be here or not /spirit-esq rant

We've built up a good relationship with him (sans the Dameron debacle) and he had a great visit. I'm really not too worried about him for some reason.
We basically have 6 spots for 6 guys
CJ
JW
FR
CC
TM
NB
I guess a sleeper for a scholly would be Joe Price

This. Collins Moore is legit and has been a solid commit for 6 months. Raven pulls this BS and now we may not have room for Moore?

Prewitt shouldn't be asked to grayshirt just bc he has more change in his family's coffers. It is an honor to be offered a scholarship and he committed very early in the process to Ole Miss and so did Worthy. A coach's word must mean something at a school like Ole Miss. Just because Bama & LSU can give and retract offers doesn't mean Ole Miss can. The State of Mississippi for years has been pillaged by both programs. If a kid commits and doesn't waiver like the other ego feeding high schooler with no parental guidance do then he should not be requested to take less just bc some unproven (great stats in high school, but its a different game come college away from momma and your street) football player wants to be wanted.

Solid first post. I agree. But FWIW Worthy committed only a couple of weeks before Moore.

Exactly y'all can't. Not because it has to do with the coaches word but the state of the three programs. OM can't afford to alienate instate kids because your program is not on the level of either LSU or Bama. LSU and Bama are simply in a position to play the game just like recruits play all the time. OM doesn't really have that option, and really never has.

I hate to sound like an arse, but I just don't care. I want the best players, period. I want wins, period. I want results, period.
Other SEC schools are able to play the numbers game and things work out for them. We should be able to do the same. I don't want OM to get a reputation for being a "fair recruiting school". I want OM to get a reputation for getting so many 4 and 5 stars, that players better sign so they have a CHANCE to play for us. If someone who is CLEARLY better comes along on NSD, you just got bumped to your second choice. Sorry.

When is it ever conceivable for that to really happen at Ole Miss? You fight it out with MSU for a lot of players and then you have Bama and LSU right there taking individual players here and there. Not to mention, despite the amount of per capita talent in MS, there is still not enough to continually give OM or any single school an opportunity at 4 star and 5 star dominance.

I disagree. If we don't change our recruiting attitude, we cannot expect better results. Recruiting the same way = the same old results.
Damn on that. I want better recruits. If we have a 3 star committed and a 4 star wants to sign on NSD, take him. If the 3 star REALLY wants to play for us, he has other options. If he wants to play immediately, he'll have to go elsewhere. It sucks, but that the way it goes.

Well it's one thing to do it prior to signing day, but a whole different ball game when you're not sending papers to a committed players house because a four star jumps on board on signing day. That would seriously undermine OM's ability to recruit at certain schools in the future and a school has to be very careful about that.
