safeties really need to play well

I think this is the biggest factor for our defense this year. Everyone likes to talk about the big names we lost. I think losing Mike Hilton and Trey Elston are going to be the biggest shoes to fill. They always were in the right place and were great tacklers. Thankfully we get Conner back but the other safeties have big shoes to fill.

I feel like FSU pulls out the W due to Ole Miss having to break in a brand new OL rotation against one of the best defenses in the country.

Also, Dalvin Cook is the best RB we will face this year, and I'm scared he's going to wear us down.

But I hope I'm wrong.

If Ole Miss' OL gels early, and the front-7 plays smart and stays in their gaps, we have as good as chance as anybody.

I don't think any Ole Miss fans are under-appreciating these guys. They were game-changers.

I mean if Ole Miss is holding their own against Alabama's rushing attack

Bama had over 500 yards with nearly 300 on the ground. That's not holding your own. Now If they can get 5 turnovers and a couple fluke plays..who knows?

For the game, Henry led the team with 127 yards and one touchdown. As a team, they collected 288 yards.

Also, we'll be needing Robert Nkemdiche to come back and play the game of his life again.

Perhaps not, but no one really mentions losing those two

I feel pretty good about the game. I believe it will be close and we score late to put it away. 34-20 type of game.

We really should tear out the gameplan we used against Bama and LSU. We didn't technically stop Henry & Fournette, but we slowed them down the best we could. We're going to have to do the same for Cook.

Many Ole Miss fans are worried about the OL but I believe we will be okay there. Young but experienced. My biggest concern is cutting out big, explosive plays from the safety position. If we can do that, I believe we will win. It's going to be a tough game though.

No doubt. Probably the biggest holes to fill from last year's D.

I honestly think if we give Kelly time he will shred the FSU defense. If we get on them early and FSU won't have the ability to control the ball with Cook and their QB has to make some plays, I think it could go very well for us.

UF did a great job on Cook in last year's game until he got most of his yards in garbage time late in the 4th after our defense quit.

I think we had him under 70 or 80 yards until 4 or 5 minutes to go in the 4th when we were down by a few scores. They kept running him and he ended up getting 150+.

FSU is more talented and Cook is a beast but Kelly is really damn good for OM and he will keep them in it.

It's close most of the game and FSU pulls away in 4th.

That's exactly why I think we need to score early so they just can't sit back and pound Cook and soften up the defense for the 4th quarter. If it is 21-10 at half they have to open it up with an inexperienced QB and Cook won't be nearly as effective.

They will be missed big time. But the one thing with Mike Hilton is he is a great player and he will be missed but after he got moved to Huskie he had to play out of position and I will take Conner at that spot all day long. Easton will be a lose at Rover.

Losing Conner was a huge blow to our defense last year. Happy he is back and feeling good.

You guys also shoved it up our O's arse last year as well. I just want our D to try and contain Cook. Cut him down to short runs and wrap him up. I just feel we do have an advantage with him after facing the Henry's and Fournette's of the world last year.

People keep bringing up DH and LF. Cook is likely better than both. I hope we can contain him (i.e. keep him around 80-90 yards).

If we keep him under 150 I'm calling it a win. He will get the ball a lot.

I disagree. He may be better than Henry but not Fournette. People are putting them all in that category because they're all elite RB's. I'd be ecstatic if we keep him 80-90 yards.
