They voted YES to change the Mascot rather than to not have a mascot at all.

incorrect...they voted YES to have an input on a new mascot instead of leaving it up to the Administration.

We're going to have a new mascot one way or another. This way, we won't have any stupid shite like Rebel Bruiser.

Our six best recruiting classes have come since. Coincidence? Maybe.

Probably. I mean we've had Orgeron and Nutt recruiting for us since then. I don't think Cutcliffe did very well in his last year, but I don't remember.

I went to Southern Miss..

Why?

It had the program I wanted.. Mississippi State didn't, neither did Ole Miss.. In retrospect, I should've went to State and done surveying.. But I don't think I made a bad choice, I love my job.

If you are going to get a degree, why not become an engineer instead of someone who works for one?

With the degree I got from Southern, the Engineers and Architects do work for me, seeing how they design the buildings, we build them, and we point out their mistakes.

I always said I should've done surveying cause I like to survey. It was one of the best classes I took at community college and Southern. I had to take it at USM cause they wouldn't transfer the credit.. No big deal, I slept, done the labs, and still had an A.

They work WITH you, not for you. If that was the case, you would also be working for them. They design it, you build it, etc...

No sir.. If they worked with me, we wouldn't have paid them money for the design. I don't call the architect to help me out.. I call them to give me the fix now.

Donk your argument doesn't really make sense. As you said, the architects and engineers design something that you build. Therefore they are providing a service for you, not necessarily working for you. You have a need and they fill it. I think the other poster was referring to engineers in the same company as you.

I think that's what he thinks too.. Its simple. We get criteria for our project.. We shop around, find a firm, and give them the job to design.. If we like it, we submit to the owner and go from there. We give the firm a contract saying, Here's how much we'll pay you for this service.. If at anytime you refuse this, we'll seek our needs else where..

Its not the firm calling us and offering us the work, we're offering them the chance to design for our needs.

Perfect. Except the shark should have a lazer beam on its head.
