The landshark thing just seems stupid to me. Well, all of them do, but I'm just responding to omaha's post. The thing about Landshark and Fins and all that is that as of now they tie into what they do for a reason. Buffet is a guitar stumming beach bum. The Dolphins are in Miami and are named...the Dolphins. There is a common "Beach" theme with the whole "Fins" and "Landshark" image. Mississippi in no way shape or form has anything to do with the beach or ocean mammals, so I don't see why they would want to adopt that name.

I agree. I think that thing our fans do with the fins are stupid. Wish that would die off after awhile. Hell all that refers to is defense anyway. Not fair to other teams at the university.

Crap I forgot about that. My bad. Still though, when people think "Mississippi"...the first thing they think of most likely isn't "Fins up!"

That Rebel-Lion idea is just embarrassing.
Oh, I got one. How about the RebEELs. They could make a big eel like a Chinese dragon costume, with one member of every visible minority group on campus making up part of the Reb-EEL. They could prance around and do their "EEL-quality Dance" at midfield while the band plays We Are The World.
