Boring letters always suck. Just rock the awesome old rebel logo and be done with it. No need to change.

The REAL reason for the new logo: our master, Nike, just found Col. Rebel and other intricate, expressive logos just too damn expensive to silk screen onto their products. Why, there's more than one color in those logos! That costs Master Knight money!! It's much easier to "modernize" and sanitize your logo to the simplest representation of your school. It also forces you to buy new swag if they change the logo. So it was really all about the $$$ and how to separate you from it and keep more of it in profit instead of production costs.

How the hell does a new M logo convey that thought?

Typically new logos are derived with the intention of replacing old logos, not to water down your brand identity.

I could easily see this script "m" showing up on your football helmets at some point in the near future.

Put stars inside the block M logo

They did this in the late-80's early-90's. In an attempt to do away with the Confederate Flag they replaced the stars and bars with a block M with stars. They had it on shirts, etc., but did away with it with the colonel.

This logo sucks arse. I would never buy any apparel with some unimaginative single letter that any bum off the street could have come up with. The old rebel logo is perfect. Stop trying to fix something that isn't broken.

Really? Like this contrived logo below?

I don't believe I've ever seen it on hats or t-shirts? I always thought it was a good look.

It's literally replacing a logo that was just the letter "M" with a different font of the letter "M".

You're being stupid.

Any truth to the rumor that Vitter is offering to axe 'Ole Miss" and all reference to Rebels in order to appease the NCAA?
