football is football.

So are you using Ole Miss's lack of past hall of fame-rs as judgment for the 2009 season?

So are you planning on putting Billy Cannon at punt returner again?

Never heard of him

I concede the point. Ole Miss has had a half dozen great players since facemasks.

What does he say that has anything to do with the actual team that is going to be on the field?

Don't worry, I'm not going to hold my breath.

If you ever learn to read, you'll see I was responding to a question about whether the article was factual.

Don't worry, I won't hold my breath as you attempt "See Spot Run".

Which we then proved that it wasnt because PF is as dumb as Kige. So why are you continuing to pick fights with Ole Miss fans on the internet? Not getting any?

Oh, I have given my reasons why I think OM won't win the west and no OM fans have had anything to say about it. Here are 2 of my posts with 2 different reasons why OM will not win the west...

All the people that pick division champions based on schedule instead of talent and coaching will FAIL. Good teams rise to the top and overcome adversity. LSU has not lost on the road at bama or ole miss this decade. We have won the West every odd year this decade (2001, 2003, 2005 &2007) Guess what....we played bama and ole miss on the road in those years also. In 2003 we beat the best ole miss team since 1969 in oxford. In 2005 we beat an undefeated top 5 bama team in tuscaloosa.

If LSU plays up to their ability, it won't matter that these game are on the road. If you are going to win championships, you have to win road games. LSU has been a good road team in odd numberd years. 2001(3-1), 2003(5-0), 2005(5-0) & 2007(4-1). Ole Miss, on the other hand, is 4-11 in road games over the last three years and has never gone undefeated on the road in the modern age. This is one reason they will not win the west.

Everyone knows how much of a grind the conference schedule can be. You don't get any weeks off in conference play. If you don't come in ready to play anyone can win on any given Saturday. Injuries happen and it takes depth to win the SEC Title.

Bill King was talking about the talent level of different teams yesterday and he said when looking at a teams talent he looks at the talent level of the team through the top 40 players on the roster. That gives him an idea of how much depth a team has.

I wanted to get an idea of the depth of talent for the top 3 teams in each division and this is how it looks...

I used Scout Rankings since they are easy to sort. Rankings are from 2006-2009. Total number of 4* and 5* signed and total Top 100 players over those 4 classes.

TEAM 4*/5* Top100

LSU .... 55.........21
Bama.... 47.........11
OM ......25..........5

UF ......62..........29
UGA .....53..........19
UT ...... 42...........10

Based on these numbers, I still don't see how everyone thinks Ole Miss has enough depth of talent to win a title. It looks like they might have a good starting group with a big drop off after the starters.

Your second point is very factual and I thank you for showing intelligence...

But your first point is based purely off the past and coincidence. Very ignorant point.

That being said, neither of the top 3 SECW teams can afford injuries in certain positions.

And Patrick Willis was a 2/3 star FWIW. So you can't put too much stock in star recruiting rankings. I think that Oher and P. Jerry were also 3 stars as well.

So you are saying that Finebaum and that particular article is factual?

Other than listing preseason rankings and the date of the OM-Bama game, what actual FACTS are in that article.

Hint: depth, player ability, coaching ability, etc...

I have never claimed that we will win the west. That is not my goal for this year. Its laughable that PF thinks that because we wont that our season will be a train wreck. I've predicted us time and time again for us to go 10-2. With a loss to USCe and a loss to either Bama or LSU. Does 10-2 win the west.

But the fact that LSU and Gump posters wont admit that we have a shot at the west is just as laughable as Finebaums article. This is the best team that we have had in who knows how long... And all we hear is "they are Ole Miss" were and Ole Miss team that put 31 points on your defense in your stadium. And beat a team in the cotton bowl that no one else in the country thought we could.

There is no way to tell if we are gonna be the Ole Miss of old or a new Ole Miss team for 54 days. So please stop

I disputed the fact that the only talent we ever had all had the last name Manning. Or is reading not your strong suit either?

Finebaum went on a rant and completely took back every thing that he said about Ole Miss a couple of weeks before. And guys like you are dumb enough to believe it. Congrats
