Yes, but transfered in the 8th grade to Loyd Star 2A public school right outside of Brookhaven.
For some reason I always thought you went to Parklane or were from McComb originally.

Never heard of Loyd Star. Were you rivals with North Pike?

We played them in all sports and were rivals with some of the guys from there over their girls (North Pike has always had some quality femals, crazy but quality in looks), but our big rival was/is Wesson.
Back then North Pike was only a 3A school now they are a large 4A and growing bigger and bigger.

It's that big now? I think they were 2A back when I was around McComb.
You old enough to remember Skinney's in Kentwood?

Im way to young to ever remember North Pike being 2A. Its growing BIG TIME and has been for the past decade. They are getting a lot of people from McComb move to the North Pike school district. White flight out of McComb, which is crazy considering how close McComb is to Summit.

Im kin to its owner Mississippi Sports Hall of Famer and former NFL player and Ole Miss football player Ralph "Catfish" Smith
Never went there though was too young but always heard stories from older friends and family about it. Especially during the time Louisiana was still 18 to drink and Mississippi was 21 and people went to Skinnys and Bear Creek (or something like that)

Im guessing you went to Chamberlin Hunt?
Appreciate the comment

Some good folks from the Loyd Star community right outside of Brookhaven.

Skinny's did have some epic moments back then. Especially the fights between Southwest and Co-lin rednecks. The chicks were for the taking too. EASY pickings. Good times.
Bear Creek was out of Amite.

Didn't realize this was happening. McComb was always a good public school. The only people that went to Parklane were typically those who didn't live in McComb's district.

There's some place out from Kentwood I went to once called Weedees or something like that. I think I have been to every hole in the wall bar in southwest Mississippi including Illusions, the Goose(Bo's Hideaway) and Nukes up in Port Gibson back in the day

McComb is now rated as a Low Performing district while North Pike is a top performing district according to Mississippi's test scores. My cousin is moving from Natchez to Summit for the public schools for his son who is about to start Kindergarten there next fall.

Only school ive ever been to that has hometown listed by their players in their football program and they have kids from BOTH Mississippi and Louisiana. (and I'd guess probably 10 or more towns)

Where are they moving to in Summit? Out towards Dixie Springs?
The Mallard!!
Please tell me it's still around. I think my last time there was around 2001 or 2002.

Somewhere around there. There are a lot of new subdivisions out there between Dixie Springs and summitt.

Alive and kicking. Was actually there the night before Thanksgiving. They have added on a HUGE deck upstairs. I have had some good times there in my life.
Also been to the legendary "ICEHOUSE" in McComb a time or two.

The night before Thanksgiving at The Mallard were usually packed with everybody back from school etc. Good times indeed.
ICEHOUSE Baby!!! That's where we would end up after the Mallard. That place didn't shut down till like 4am. Some nights it was awesome, other nights it was downright scary.

You hit the nail on the head.
Sometimes you would meet some FINE girls from like Tylertown or Liberty or Gloster, other times half the people at the bar would look like convicted felons out on parole.
