Why in the world are you bringing Georgia up? I mean, sheesh. You are eat up with it, aren't you? Did Diddlydawg get Missouri, too, while I wasn't looking?

Maybe you should know what the frick you’re talking abut before posting. Ohio State has done everything they could from day 1 to have a season.

Pretty sure you are wrong about this:

During his radio show Monday, Dan Patrick reported that the Big Ten's presidents voted 12-2 to cancel the upcoming football season. The lone dissenting voices came from Nebraska and Iowa, Patrick reported.

This us totally inaccurate.. the political powers in Michigan and Illinois strong armed the BIG10 into trying to cancel... OSU fought this from day 1!

I was about to correct this, then it hit me......sarcasm!

That was also widely dismissed as it came out there was no actual vote; it was more of a feeling that the Conf. Commissioner got from the room.

This was discussed for weeks on most outlets.
Not going to provide lincs , because a quick google on the bite will show this on every major news outlet.

The fricking big ten did it to themselves. To delay starting the season until the end of October created a ludicrously small window to play a schedule before the cfb playoffs.

When it became clear that football could be played Ohio state and Nebraska fought tooth and nail to get the season restarted. They succeeded but only in a time frame that suited the more “cautious” members like Michigan, Wisconsin and Rutgers. I mean, Rutgers of all things! And to have a 21 day quarantine period for players is ridiculous and flies in the face of any sound public health recommendation.

The simple fact of the matter is that there are a lot of faculty bodies and presidents of big ten universities who resent the undue influence that sports, and football specifically, wield over their institutions. The cliche “never waste a crisis” gets thrown out a lot but has never been more relevant. Big ten “football factories,” ie Ohio state, are going to be brought down a peg on purpose.

Maybe. Maybe not. BUT, if the commissioner got that vibe from the room, then it would appear as if Ohio State was not fighting to save the season too hard, right?

ETA
Let me clarify. I am sure Ohio State football wanted to play the season. My criticism is directed at Ohio State the University and Administration.

It's not just Day that tested positive.

It’s tough to feel too badly for them.

If you make your bed you get to lay in it. The Big 10, who is notorious for lecturing other conferences and overlooking their own massive scandals, has no one to blame but themselves. The SEC built in cushions into the schedule and we are still going to lose some games. What did they expect would happen?

The B1G tried to show everyone how woke they were, thinking that everyone else would follow their lead. Only the pathetic PAC 12 joined them, knowing that their odds of making the CFP was nil.

And then the B1G backtracked big time and jumped back in when the other conferences were actually having a season with protocols in place

Exactly. That's why the big 10 should suffer the consequences and not have a team in the playoffs

This should literally be called the asterisk year

They should have more than an asterisk. I would like to see “(exhibition year)”.
