John Calipari
- 5 year contract starting at $7 million per year through April 30, 2029
- Maximum of two automatic rollover years for NCAAT appearances that would extend the contract to 2031
- $1 million signing bonus and retention bonuses of $500,000 each year of the contract along with one time bonuses for making the NCAAT, Round of 32, Sweet 16, Final Four and winning a national championship.
- Cal to be introduced at 6PM CT inside of The Palace
- Following introductory press conference, Calipari to meet with high level donors to speak regarding NIL. The Walton, Tyson, and Hunt families are expected to have representation at this meeting.

More of an incentive based contract than what he may have had at Kentucky. Very big opportunity for him to pad his pockets quite a bit.

Congrats, will certainly be interesting to watch moving forward. Clearly the highest floor of anybody they could have hired, and probably an overall step up from Muss, especially in terms of consistency.
If Kentucky hires Drew, the league will have gotten better all around.

Was told that after tonight's press conference, John Calipari is meeting with high-level donors to talk NIL, etc. Waltons and Tysons are expected to be there.

PS ETA: Sorta reminds me of the day we officially announced Spurrier. But we've got a long history of hiring Championship winning coaches from McGuire to Dietzel to Holtz to Spurrier .... never could quite get over the hump. Y'all may do it again with Cal, Hawg fans. The timing may be right for the both of you .... kismet.
