Well UGA now has a 2 game lead on the middle tier. Maybe some people will actually move us up.

Those rankings were shite.
UGA and Arky are playing the best ball in the SEC not including UF and UK. I would rank UGA third and Ark 4th the next power rankings.

I'm a voter. I've got UGA at 3
I see other ballots and I don't get it.

UGA is not very good from what I've seen of them. I haven't seen them play the Carolinas, MS States, etc. of the world. But I did watch their games against Tennessee, UF, Mizzou and UK. I know they beat Mizzou but I think every 7-7 team is better except aTm.
They play absolutely awful post defense. Not even competing against most teams that have even a solid big man. LSU's matador defense let them score 91, but I have no idea how more teams aren't just abusing them in the post.

DANG that pesky 9-5 conference record Georgia has!
Let me get this straight. You have only watched Georgia a grand total of four times. Three of the only five conference games we have lost (against Florida, Kentucky and Tenn.), and only one win where we beat Mizzou on the road, and that qualifies you for saying that every 7-7 team is better than us except A&M.
Yep - you seem like a qualified voter for the Basketball Power Rankings to me!
I am now beginning to understand why the rankings make no sense once you get past Fla. and Ky.

I am not a voter in the poll. I received an e-mail asking if I wanted to vote, but chose not to participate.
There are 2 good teams, 4 programs whose rosters look like they were given the death penalty recently and an 8 team shite sandwich in between in this league.
You really think UGA is a good basketball team? Outside of the win at Mizzou they have done absolutely nothing of note. They certainly don't pass the eye test against teams who have a big man with a pulse.
On a neutral floor they are an underdog to LSU, Tennessee, Arkansas, Ole Miss, Vandy and Mizzou tomorrow. That is the criteria I would use if I chose to vote along with their lack of anything even resembling a quality win outside of Mizzou.

You're speaking ignorance based on four games. Two of which were against the only decent teams in the conference, one of which was a blowout loss to your team, and one which is a win on the road against Mizzou that you conveniently choose to ignore.
Other than the four games you chose to watch, Georgia is 8-2 in conference.
So - do you still think you have a really good handle to wax eloquent on Georgia basketball?
You probably do.

I'm honestly not sure what you're arguing. UGA certainly doesn't have the 3rd best resume in the league. Mizzou, Tennessee, Ark and LSU all have better resumes along with UF and UK. Vandy/UGA is a toss up in terms of body of work.
The only other way to base this ranking is off how they're playing now. UGA certainly isn't third if that's the case either. We saw UGA play one mediocre at best team this week and they were beaten down.
I don't put much stock in to wins over the MS and South Carolinas of the world. Obviously they all count the same in the SEC standings, but not sure why you would put much stock in to them in a power ranking like this. A win over Incarnate World carries more weight than a win over Mississippi State.

Uh, Georgia actually played another mediocre team at their place this week and beat THEM down.
Oh wait, that's right. You've only seen them play four times and are basing your entire argument on that. So, based on how you rate teams, Georgia only played once this week and was beaten down. Got it.
My bad. Carry on.

SC is 3-11 in conference and 10-17 overall. I think calling them mediocre may be overstating the case just a bit...

But .... Tennessee, LSU, Arkansas, and .... well, everybody else plays these same teams. And Georgia has a better record playing these teams than ... Tennessee, LSU, Arkansas, Missouri, and everyone else in the conference except Florida and Kentucky.
So do you only apply your arguments to Georgia or does every team in the conference get the same scrutiny? If so, you's gots to admit - Georgia is third best.
Sorry.
P.S. We've also beaten Missouri, LSU, Arkansas, Alabama, etc., so I apologize if we've also beaten Ole Miss, Mississippi State, South Carolina and other teams that hurt our strength of schedule.
P.S.S. And I can't help but notice that Tennessee has lost to Texas A&M. Twice. How is that even possible?

That is your argument? I would strongly disagree. The body of work of November-now does not bear that out. I doubt UGA will finish 3rd in the league, but if they do that definitely doesn't make them 3rd best. Tennessee finished 2nd in the league a couple years ago and we definitely weren't better than Florida or Bama.

Tennessee is a very mediocre basketball team, maybe even worse than mediocre.

S. Carolina is not mediocre. They are far, far worse than that.

I think you have to put UGA and Arkansas at 3 and 4 in any power ranking right now based on how they played recently. I had my doubts last week, but both UGA and Arkansas have now won 5 of 6.
