Thanks. What a terrible season that culminated in a straight up arse whipping at Legion Field. Next year made up for it!

Speaking of 90s games, one other reason why this series is so cool was the home field disadvantage for an entire decade. From 1991-2001 the home team went 2-8-1 (UGA 1-5 in Athens, AU 1-3-1 in Auburn). That's pretty rare for a big rivalry to be dominated by the visitor.

Later this week Classic is showing the 2000 AU/UGA game.

Prob my favorite game as an undergrad for that very reason. We fianlly won at JHS for the first time in a decade.

Rudi Johnson scored in OT!

29-26 if memory serves. I was in boy scouts during that time and we went on a campout in the mountains. I was furious that I had no way to keep up with the game but I was basically forced into going to fill some sort of requirement or some BS. So we're up in the mountains and I snuck over to someone's jeep and turned on the radio JUST as terriel beirra took a pick 75 yards for a score. I was going nuts. Alas I was outted and that was all I heard. I got maybe 10 minutes of sleep that night just knowing that Georgia was playing and I had no idea what was happening. Sunday morning we're all driving back and we had sports radio on in the car and they were running down top 25 scores. The announcer goes, "from Auburn, Alabama, in overtime......29-26......Auburn." Talk about a deflating moment, it felt like someone punched me in the stomach. I didn't speak the rest of the way home.

My brother was a walk-on for Auburn during that time period. He mailed me some "hedges" after Auburn played @ Georgia.

And you quit the boy scouts because of that, right?

And no to Spanish, just History and English

The 2004 game was probably my favorite game to ever go to in JHS.

Ugh I still gotta get a ticket to this game. I'm a senior and I've still never been to Auburn-Georgia between the hedges. So busy this week though. Thinkin I'll just get ripped off outside the stadium

Dude if you're making enough effort to go to Athens why not just pony up and get a ticket?

You'll miss all the pre-game festivities, but if there are any tickets left being scalped on the bridge (doubtful) right at or before kickoff is when you're most likely to find the best deals. Otherwise, you can expect to pay a couple hundred for whatever tickets happen to be floating around

This will be an expensive ticket bec. with UGA playing in Jax and the Dome...this is the biggest home game this year and only USCe and AU were the worthwhile home games for UGA.

Exactly. And you can bet that some serious bank is going to be offered for a nsoebleed seat to this one, just on the off chance that Carolina loses that morning and UGA has a chance to win the East by beating Auburn. Would make this game an instant classic before kickoff
