I don't think it would have been so amusing if expectations hadn't been blown out of proportion. Most people realized that this was the route they were going, and I've said before, the only thing that strikes me as odd is that he'd left, and that he came back for a year contract. I understand the logic, but it doesn't seem it would have made THAT much difference to keep someone who's there and promote him. Also, in doing that, people would have had a different perception.

I agree. I like him for this upcoming year. Plus we can still search for our homerun hire this entire time.

Hogville makes me LMAO. And I totally understand the logic. I thougnt the interim way made the most sense all along, at least for long term stability. It's a terrible position to be in.

Definitely not. I saw on twitter earlier that one of the news stations was running a poll on if people approved of the hire or not and 70% of the people thought it was a good move.

I can't read or post on the Alabama equivalent. It literally makes me anxious and unnerves me. There's something reassuring to me to see other fan boards with people who act as idiotic as ours.

Word is that JLS was only going to coach at Weber State for one year and then retire. And he will retire after coaching one season here as well.
Now, if you were only going to coach ONE MORE YEAR and you had your choice between Weber State (not to knock them too hard, it IS his alma mater) or finish your career as HC, even if as interim, at a BCS contender in the SEC - what would you do?
ETA: Argue you will, I'm sure - but at least here he has a CHANCE at a NC ring, not so at Weber.

Well i've officially given up on the season. I still plan on watching and cheering but I expect absolutely nothing. my prediction is 6-7 for the season until i'm proven different. Also i'm betting we land our first recruit in decemberish.

I just feel bad about the whole situation in general. If this happened at Florida I would be a train-wreck. I have mad respect for Long, he did the right thing in Firing Petrino.
