Are you trying to say that I think we're we're worth a shite, or have accomplished much since '95?

I can't recall anyone saying that. I know we suck but y'all only suck perhaps a bit less at the moment. Where do y'all come up with this shite?

I swear, if y'all knew that a man had only one leg to stand on, you would accuse him of bragging about kicking butt and in the same breath, try to encourage him to enter a butt kicking tournament.

No. It was a serious question. What was the best team since '95?

We had a couple decent squads with Heath but nothing to the level that we accept. That shite only goes for teams like Bama. Hell, even LSU doesn't take one and dones.

Arkansas' program is equivalent (at best) to Alabama's now. Sorry to break the news to you, but the sooner you learn the truth the sooner you will stop looking like an idiot.

We obviously know more about our program than anyone else and we hate mediocrity.

Who are you arguing with?

What you dumbass bama fans don't get is that our program will not accept it though. I've never once nor has anyone else suggested that we are in a better state than Bama presently. But what you don't get is your program will never take steps to sustain a winning basketball program like Arkansas will. If MA is a winner then he isn't going anywhere. Maybe 3 or 4 programs would outbid us for a coach and they are Kansas, Kentucky, Indiana and maybe a couple others. If Bama lands a winning coach that ever falls under courtship from a big time program, you will not pay him and he will leave. That is the difference right there. You will never be more than a season here and there program. You will not run through entire decades worth of good basketball like Arkansas has.

And we won't stop until it is the right fit. MA has been a proven winner at every level thus far which leads me to believe he is the right man for the job. We hired coaches in the past with promise and they just didn't pan out so the university had them kick rocks. Stan Heath would have probably had a 12-15 year career at a school like Bama, but not Arkansas.

I was responding to the person I responded to. Shreveport or whatever his name is.

I believe you that you hate mediocrity, but it's where you've been for a long arse time. It is the new norm for Arkansas even though a lot of Arkansas fans still act like they are an elite program that is on its way back. There is no evidence of that and there hasn't been for a long time.

About what most of us really expected, considering we lost our best player before the season started.

I am stunned this thread has turned into a fapfest of the GOAT basketball team's history to ignore the fact you just got swept by a team who was playing without three of it's top players. Congrats on those championships 40 years ago though.

So is Indiana and a dozen other teams that fall through dark ages. It happens to every program in every major sport. The difference is in the programs that actively pursue ways to change that. Bama will never be that type of basketball program though. How is this a hard concept to grasp? Just like Bama will never accept it in football. Hell, ND is a prime example of this actually. When is the last time they did shite in football? But they still are elite because they are constantly trying to fix it.

Arkansas has finally taken this concept to football by signing BP to a monster contract. Hopefully when his career is over we do that again with another good coach but you can never tell. We might have a dominant Bball team by then and not care about football again like the late 80s to 90s.

So we take into account Bama being down their best player and playing all freshman, but not Arkansas? You sir have gone full retard. Please go have a few drinks and drive home now.

So paying a coach almost 2 million, upgrading Coleman Coliseum, and building a state of the art basketball practice facility isn't actively trying to be a top program. Got it

I don't really see anyone claiming we're a elite program at this time. The only people claiming that we believe this are full of shite.

We have been a high caliber program the past, and yes, we hope we can get it back to where we want it. And we will pursue it to no end. Nobody is saying otherwise, not anyone that I'm aware of. I don't know where people come up with that shite.

If we had been happy with what we have accomplished over the past few years, we would have kept the past two coaches we fired.

Looks like you have accepted mediocrity pretty well, as you have a losing record in SEC games played since 1995. That 17 year stretch of losing should qualify as accepting it, regardless how many times you change coaches. Kind of like rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic.

Well when money rolls in you can't just stick it all in football upgrades. I know for a fact that if your coach has a couple really good seasons that you won't be able to keep him there.
