You said the NIL/portal era.

The portal was instituted in 2018.

NIL started in 2021.

Whether you care about it or not is irrelevant. Many people do care about it. However this Georgia moron decided to use that as a basis for his argument. I know that you are yet ANOTHER alter, but are you also too stupid to comprehend what you have read?

It depends on how you define and measure value.

Florida and Texas are also elite academic institutions.

Name brand, Alabama and Texas.

Endowment, Texas is second to only Harvard.

National championships is clearly Alabama, with LSU, Goergia, Florida, and Auburn contributing.

LSU fan is sad that LSU wasn’t mentioned. If I mentioned LSU this thread would get 100 upvotes. Not that I care.

Shouldn't they be? LSU has won more titles than Georgia overall and in the last 10 years. If you want to mention football as a major mark, then LSU would have to be included.

I mean I could go through and name every contribution every team in the SEC makes to the conference (aside from mizzou, im still not sure why theyre here). That doesn't appear to be what you're interested in. Do you want me to just tell you that Georgia is playing for national championship again because that's what it seems like? If the only thing that matters is winning A championship in football then everybody needs to be booted except for Alabama LSU and Georgia

Florida and Texas are good, not close to elite academically.

Objectively, who are the most valuable members of the SEC

Desirability Ratings: Measuring Each Power 5 School’s Conference Value (SI report):

- Football ranking: This is a five-year average of the Sagarin ratings from 2017 to ’21
- Academic ranking: This is simply the most recent U.S. News & World Report’s national universities rankings, released in 2021.
- All-sports ranking: This is the Learfield Directors’ Cup Division I standings for the 2021–22 academic year, which rates performance in 19 sports, with the mandatory sport counters being baseball, men’s and women’s basketball and women’s volleyball.
- Football attendance: This was an average of home-game attendance (via NCAA data) from 2017 to ’21, tossing out ’20 since that season was heavily impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic
- Broadcast viewership: This was the total number of football games that drew one million or more viewers: from 2017 to ’21, also tossing out ’20 due to the wide disparity in number of games played across the country.

(*would have like to see them include 5 year avg from the WSJ on Athletic Department Valuation as well even if some of that is included in the selected metrics)

SEC rankings among P5 teams:
*4. UTx
5. UgA
6. Uf
*8. OU
10. Bama
12. Aggie
13. Au
14. LSU
24. UTk
28. Ole Miss
34. Arky
39. Uk
42. USCe
43. MSU
53. Mizzou
63. Vandy

Full list of all 69 teams (accounts for upcoming additions to P5) and category rankings here: SI Valuation of all 69 P5 schools

By most rankings, Texas is a top 10 public university and a top 30 overall. Is that not elite?

In college baseball or MLB? Are you trying to say they're the same?

Dead and dying sport anyway.

Texas is not top 30 by any ranking. Texas is not an elite academic school. That’s the problem with Texas people. You think you are Stanford academically and on par with Alabama in football.
