Nice to see that Saban's Manchurian candidate is working out well up in Knoxville.
Time will only tell with our plant down in Gainesville.

Yeah we did so well with that at LSU, all of us gave Les FULL support.

I don't think this is what Fulmer had in mind when he was attributed as saying the "out of bidness" quote.

Kiffin was a good hire. Hamilton did a piss poor job with his contract, but he gets shite done. The fact that he pissed a lot of people off along the way was a plus.
Exactly. Kiffin was a douche because of his antics. But as he said afterwards, it was all a plan to get UT in the news. He also left in a bad way.
But, Kiffin would have won the SEC east this year.
Kiffin vowed to never lose to UGA
vs
Dooley's "always kick the shite of of Vandy"
That shows the difference in coaches.
EDIT: Kiffin would have won the SECE had he remained at UT. Not with this team.

No one on that staff has ever committed any major NCAA violations. And yes, talented thugs are what it takes. Our roster was full of thugs when we were winning at about a .800 clip over 10 years.

i think kiffin would have done very well at UT. they would have had a very good shot at the east this year had he stayed imo.

That would've been pretty hollow since we would've gotten a bowl ban

Yep.
I'm trying hard to feel pity for you guys but my own concerns about the shape we are in is making it very difficult.

The only reason they didn't go after us over Kiffin and Co's violations was because ALL of them left.

The NCAA ruled that in his 10 months or so as Vols coach he committed 12 minor infractions. If he had been coach from now until then do you think he would've just stopped? Somehow I doubt it. Even if he avoided the major violations area he was on pace to have about 36 minor violations by now. Minor or not I doubt that would sit well with the NCAA. Especially if Kiffin was still there while they were looking at Pearl.

“The two major violations levied against the football program were found to be secondary violations and no further penalties were levied against the UT program, former coach Lane Kiffin or former assistant David Reaves.”

There was nothing to punish us for. The only thing they were even able to investigate us for was Hostessgate, which was not a major violation. Smoke machines, mock pressers, and naming kids on twitter is not going to get you a bowl ban.

and...
"While Kiffin took a lot of heat for six secondary violations in his 14 months at Tennessee, this compares favorably with the 16 secondary violations by Nick Saban’s Alabama in two years and the 375 secondary violations by Ohio State over a nine-year period in 17 sports."
