Every Ag who died in the past year.

Held all over the world. Got some pics today from a buddy who attended one somewhere in Afghanistan. Surprisingly, there were 13 people in the pic.

The list of names is 13 pages long. The oldest I've seen is a Mr Reuben Ahley, class of 1921. Sadly, there are too many young ones.

While I will respect your traditions please do not discount mine and assume that SEC member schools would disrespect military heritage at any fellow SEC school.

If I hadn't read the other Aggie posts I would have assumed that would never happen. Sadly, I did read them. There are plenty of heroes from every SEC school - sorry for my dingbat brethren. It ain't a competition, dingbats.

So they name every aggie who has passed...ever? Very cool but lengthy. Where do they hold these meetings?

No, and you're right - that would take all night. Depends on where you are but generally they only mention those that have died in the last year. Muster is held wherever there are more than a few Aggies. Most in Texas, of course. There's one in my state and one in Maryland that I'm prodding my Gettysburg roommate to go to.

Kentucky has supplied grunts going back to the founding of America. Probably why they have a top rifle team at the collegiate level. If you are ever in Lexington it is worth the trip for a visit to Memorial. Whole lot of names on the walls listed by home county and conflict.

I'll have to remember that.

Here for LTC Tisdale '92.
It took me a minute but I knew that the name sounded familiar...
quote:

When protesters from Westboro Baptist Church in Topeka, Kansas, announced their intent to protest the funeral of Lt. Col Roy Tisdale, held Thursday afternoon at College Station’s Central Baptist Church, one thing they didn’t count on was the loyalty and pride of the Texas Aggie family for one of their own. A group of more than 600 Aggies formed a “Maroon Wall,” as Texas Aggies surrounded the church Thursday, linked arm-in-arm, united to preserve the sanctity of a funeral for a fallen family member.
quote:

As of the afternoon of July 5, 2012, it can be added that Lt. Col. Roy Lin Tisdale, Texas Aggie Class of ’92, is survived by the Maroon Wall, a tribute symbolic of the love, respect and honor of former students for their fellow Aggie. No better example can be found of just what it means to be part of the Texas Aggie family. The most powerful statement of all against hate was made, in complete, reverent silence.

I drove up to CS for that.

Westboro has a place reserved in the deepest recesses of hell for their actions.

Good man! Off on a tangent just a bit, but every time the subject of those assholes comes up I feel compelled to mention Brandon, MS. This was just full of awesome: LINK
Read the story - it will make your day.

Thank you for your efforts and being a part of the Maroon Wall.

I'm a staunch defender of the 1st Amendment but Westboro Baptist tests my limits. Those attention whores never seem to go away.

Edit: finestfirst79, what a great example of Southern Justice. No constitutional questions here. No mess, no fuss.
