God that was such an arse whipping. I remember watching the two teams warming up and I knew we were in trouble. They were so much faster than our players. We were in the coffin before the ball kicked off. The opening kickoff was the last nail in the coffin (for those remember, our return man was crushed around the 13 yard line).

McWilliams was so in over his head. Thankfully, we canned him the following year after a 5-win season. Great guy, but just not a head coach.

My favorite quote about that game came from Urban Meyer when he was doing his year as an analyst. He said he knew it was over when he watched the pre-game warm-ups. I'm pretty sure Brian Kelly and Notre Dame knew it too.....
