The ND people I have talked to (a grand total of one, namely my son's GF) acknowledge that they got more benefit of the doubt than most teams would. She also says she would have preferred to play in a good bowl game with a chance to win, instead of being Bama's practice squad for a night.

I can't believe I'm standing up for the Domers, but they have caught more crap than they deserve, even here.

tOSU is the program with the weakest justification for being there. If they had been #4 (and perceived as the one who barely got in), they would be the ones trying to justify their existence. As it is, they are getting a pass because ND is taking that heat.

Not saying A&M should be there in their place. Hell, I'd listen to someone saying give Cincy a shot. Even if we were not the ones left standing, I would say tOSU is the biggest fraud on the stage, especially with the shenanigans that got them there.

Screw 'em.

Pretty sure I was upfront saying I was not making the case for us. I am fine with having a competitive bowl game.

I just think the wrong Ohio team got in.

Prolly not. I don't see anybody giving Bama or Clemson a game.

I just don't like rewarding that crap. Give somebody like Cincy the chance to establish a precedent.

At this point I think it’s obvious, if you want to be in the playoff and you’re from the SEC, you need to either

A) Be Alabama
B) Beat Alabama
C) Be from the east

I don’t see a west team getting in if they don’t beat Bama. MAYBE you had a chance I’d it was a closer game and the rest of your SOS was better

it's over. Alabama will cream them - favored by almost twenty points last I saw. I'm looking forward to the next big date, which is January 2nd. Bowl game, and announcement of expected additions to our class.

It's interesting/weird/frustrating that the Bama juggernaut has shielded some pretty good teams from having the paths available to other divisions/conferences.

The SEC West has often had some really good teams that would have won almost any other division. It is what it is, and you have to beat the best to be the best, but it does obscure just how deep the SEC West has been the last 10 years or so.
